I waa thinking about this last night, maybe alot of those stories about our wrathful Gods were true, but in the great nature of parents, they have mellowed as time went by, and have been less wrathful, not meaning that they won't get really cheesed off nowadays cause I'm sure that they will, but I mean mellow in the way of patience, like a first time parents getting so bloody pissed off when there kids act up, but by the time they have had a few more years and/or kids and then eventually grandkids they'bve chilled and not gotten so arrggh and oooh and oh boy are you in for it! Over every little thing. What do you guys think?

Interesting thought...but maybe the "mellowing" is more about OUR evolution than theirs? I mean, perhaps as humanity has evolved into a more industrial, less warlike, society, our Deities have adjusted their dealings with us?

People way back when, lived in a much harsher environment. They didn't have warm cozy houses, with nice insulated heating, and way to raise or lower the temperature of their homes, medicine was not as developed, there was a chance of you dying from things we today simply go to the drug store for nor all the other convinces we have now. Harsher environment= harsher gods. I know its not a very a very religiously or spiritually exciting explanation, but the parallel is there.

Maybe its because spending time with ourselves is still a useful enough punishment that they don't have to get involed as much. Then things like Katrina hit to remind you where those myths came from. :stomp:

been said...we have evolved, if not physically than definitely mentally, and in evolving the ways we think and perceive the God/esses have evolved as we have. They find different ways to interact with their believers. We are responsible for inviting their presence in our lives and by doing so we are somewhat responsible for how they interact with us...not to say they don't have a mind of their own but I do believe that how we believe can alter how they are perceived and subsequently how they treat us.

Just my 2 centavos..Blessings and Joy!
