Great! Our computer has been infected with the LoveLetter Virus. We did a virus scan on Norton, and found that it had gotten into too many files, to count! Mostly jpegs hubby has downloaded..so most of it is no big deal. But it did contaminate some of our song files, and a couple of pictures from our digital camera we had saved, and some other things that we don't want to lose.

My question is this. Is the LoveLetter Virus something you have to pick up from opening email attatchments? Or can it be sent through a song file you've downloade, or a picture,or an mpeg?

Also...we've burned a lot of our pictures, and songs, onto CD. If we now USE those CD's, in our computer, will it reinfect the hard drive?

Right now, the infected files are quarantined. It took about 3 hours to quarantine them all. So it's going to be quite a tedious task to sort through them all, and figure out what to do with them. Do they all have to be deleted?

from what I've read so far, yes you open an attachment in email or IRC to get it.
