I've never used stones/crystals before, but now seems like a good time. Which are good for calmness? I'm a really anxious person and it would be so helpful to have a little boost.

I use amber for anxiety. Just finished making amber necklaces with bloodstone, rutilated quartz and lepidolite for depression with anxiety and fearfulness.

If worst comes to worst and you cannot find a stone that feels relaxing to you, why not choose a stone with a calming color? Colors work wonders when it comes to moods.

thats why i was recommending the blue anhydrite
but you could use blue calcite as well.

Snowflake obsidian seems to have a banishing nature, that helps to remove negative vibrations from a person. I have given it to people who have anxiety with good results. Also, psycologically speaking pink is very calming. Some pink opal, or if you can find it pink sapphire or pink tourmaline.

I've always been drawn to snowflake obsidian. It's interesting to know it can be good for anxiety, because I can get very anxious! I also think it is my affinity for volcanoes (hence my screen name ;) ), and isn't obsidian a volcanic rock?

Bloodstone. I have a huge thick necklace of bloodstone that works wonders for my anxiety.
