Do you think their is a difference between Cheap and Frugal?
If so, what are the differences? Curious on everyone's viewpoint.

I believe there is a difference. In my opinion being frugal means that you do not make purchases frivolously. You think about your purchases ahead of time and research the options. Sometimes you will pay a greater price for higher quality because you know that the item will last longer/work better than the cheaper options. Being frugal means that you may brown-bag lunch most days and save the money for a vacation that you've been dreaming about. Being cheap, on the other hand, means that money is your top priority, and you will always use cost as the basis for your decisions. A cheap person is usually not generous, however a frugal person will be generous in a thoughtful, caring way.

Ditto to Eeluna's post too.

To me, cheap is a state of heart. Frugal is a sense of being careful so that you have what you need when you need it.

I try to be frugal. There are things I will try to cut corners on, things I have no choice but to cut corners on, and then the things I refuse to cut corners on. If I were cheap, I think it would be cut corners all around. JMHO :)

Cheap= buying something of less price because you don't want to fork over the $ for what the person really wants.

Frugal= Buying the same item that the person wants at a cheaper price.

Or something to that effect.

eeluna has it right, i buy stuff like envelopes, candles, etc. at "the dollar store", i shop around for the cheapest gasoline price, i buy cheap or re-load my practise ammunition but i'll spend $500.00 for the pistol i carry on duty and full price for the hollow-point factory loads i carry in it. save money on the small stuff and spend it where it counts.

Cheap=my dad's wife

Frugal=ME!!! :boing:

The dollar store is the best place! I love mine. I got all my X-mas wrappings & stocking stuffers there. Every once in a while you find a great item. I once found a set of ceramic unicorns. they were marked buy one get one free, there were 4 different ones. I bought them for my best friend to keep on her mantle. they're really pretty.

definetely not! spend the $400.00 and get a good chicken vest, going for cheap could be something you'd regret the rest of your life. "second chance" is a good brand, it'll stop a .44 mag at point blank.
