I've noticed through the interaction I've had with other Wiccans/Pagan is we are a very creative and artistic lot. Have any of you ever experianced "other worldly help" in your creative endeavors? :)

The reason I ask is because of a series of interesting experiances I've had. I am an artist and enjoy sketching and painting and it's not unusual for me to "feel the presence" of an entity if I am working on a portrait of a deity or a character from legends. But recently I had a similiair experiance while writing.

I've spent the past 15 years of my life compiling information on Arthurian legends and as I've mentioned before, I practice a branch of Celtic Paganism - the Arthurian Tradition.

About a month ago I was bitten by the writing bug and decided to sit down with MS Word and start writing my own take on things....That's when Taliesin started making his appearances. I had intended to include him all along but I'm noticing as my story develops that he is getting a larger and larger role and playing a huge part in the life of my central, fictional character. It's as if he's whispering the story in my ear and I'm merely typing the words.

Has anyone else ever experianced anything like this?

Yes, I have. I write movie scripts and poetry and I paint. It happened once while I was painting. I was sitting on the floor looking at this huge piece of board that only had a solid background. I was listening to music and I laid back against my bed and sort of dozed off. I suddenly realized there was something standing off to the left of the painting and I sat up and copied it onto the board. It was a strange black-skinned, yellow-eyed thing. Anyway, When I am really into a script, I will wake up in the night hearing my characters talking to me like they are real people in the room. Occasionally, I'll have a vision while meditating of a character that leads to a movie. The one I am working on right now came to me while I was working on a meditation to find the spirit guides of different herbs. She just appeared off to the left of my altar and told me her story. It's the best script I have.

I have often read of JK Rowling describing the way Harry Potter was born and she will say things about how he "came" to her fully formed already with a story. I bet she had an experience like that.

I make my living writing and the stories always come the same way. They just pop into my head. I have been asked how I "think them up", I don't, they are just there and I put them down on paper (well when I finally hit the print key). I guess they have always been in my head, they just wait till they are ready to come out.

Good, then this is not a strange thing to be happening. My story is forming so smoothly and blending into my research so well that I've gone back countless times to make sure that my character really is fictional. The entity of Taliesin is behaving as though he knew her all along. :)

One night i was sitting in my living room with my drawing pad infront of me.. and I felt Joys hand on my shoulder.. i looked up on the mantle across from me and saw my 4th grade class picture and started drawing.. I've never been good with drawing except for 3, 4 times in my life.. something, someone inspires me, or hires me, to be the hand for something. That night i proceeded to draw the most realistic, and VERY acurate portrait of Joy. My mom has it hanging up in the living room now.

I love to write, but I got a major block.

For the past three months all I've been able to do is stare at a blank page. I get absolutely NO ideas. I think if you took a picture of the inside of my head you'd see hamster that fell off his wheel.

What can I do? Someone help, please. :)

Not that I have any brilliant ideas, but what have you tried so far to shake yourself out of it?

Actually, I broke out of it about 3am today.

I had been sitting around brainstorming with no results. I tried reading, travelling, meditation, praying but nothing came to me. But this morning I woke up and I had this powerful urge to write, and I knew what I wanted to write about. It was like, I woke up, looked at the ceiling and went "Yeah, that's it!" So, I ran downstairs turn on the computer and I wrote. :)

The results of my writing have turned into my new website. :sunny: It's not wiccan or pagan related, but I'll announce it in the Geek forum.

Sorry about the plug, but I didn't know how else to finish this tale. :)
