Right, lately I've tried to create simple and "general" altar decorations for myself, to symbolize different roles of my deities. Agricultural theme was no problem, nor healing, justice, knowledge etc.
But - creation? It's not the most tangible theme, to me. If I don't want to go for symbols for specific deities, what do I do? Are there any good, "general" symbols or such for creation and creators?
Ideas and suggestions are most welcome!

Sesen
A Lotus Flower. This is a symbol of the sun, of creation and rebirth. Because at night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. According to one creation myth it was a giant lotus which first rose out of the watery chaos at the beginning of time. From this giant lotus the sun itself rose on the first day.
In mayan philosophy
a celestial bird r( a serpintine feathered bird )rests upon a tmple at Copan a mountain of creation symbol...
The Svasti
To travel in the clockwise direction of the twelve interlocking Svasti (auspicious) symbols of creation is to experience perfect cosmic order prior to immersing oneself in the patterns of the Shri Yantra and the journey beyond one's perceived limited experience.
the lotus flower
The lotus flower appeared in legends originating both from India and from ancient Egypt
The lotus flower played a prominent role in the version of the creation story that originated in Heliopolis. Before the universe came into being, there was an infinite ocean of inert water which constituted the primeval being named Nun. Out of Nun emerged a lotus flower, together with a single mound of dry land. The lotus blossoms opened, and out stepped the self-created sun god, Atum, as a child.
In the Near East (Mesopotamia), the lotus was the flower of Lilith, the Sumero-Babylonian goddess that Jews claimed was Adam's first wife.

The hawaiins beleived creation was caused by a chant, so they chant to reflect this.
Hinduism
In the beginning there was one Soul (purusha), eternal in time and space, the one without a second. In this pre-Big Bang state, no dualities existed: no up/down, here/there, good/evil, them/us, male/female, and so on. The Soul was a perfect unity, an eternal omnipresent oneness of being. The Soul (metaphorically speaking, of course) saw that it was alone and became frightened. It soon realized, however, that there was no cause to be afraid because no other existed to do any harm. This saddened the Soul, reminding it of its loneliness; existence before the Big Bang was boring. So the Soul decided to make a second by becoming two, male and female, creating the dualities. Though these two became separate, they were still one in spirit, sharing the same Soul. When they united as husband and wife, God and Goddess, they could remember that unity of Soul.
so any symbol of balance and birth involves that of creation...
