decision making spread

With this the solar new year, my thoughts are on forward movement.

I was hoping a reading could be done about an upcoming decision I have to keep the job I have now or move onto another.

I like my job, but the bigwigs are adding the workload of another person to my own and phasing out that other person's job. Mind you, I won't be getting that othe'r person's salary.

The new position is in the same organization but for less money thank I'm making now, but also less responsibility with better work hours. They are interviewing many people for the job and my interview is this coming tuesday.

Should I stay or should I go?

Okay Selenia, this is what I drew....for a three card spread.


Present: Emperor-structure and authority. I feel that there is an emptiness in the work you do. The pressure is too much and you are stressed out on a daily basis. You're calls for 'help' go unanswered, no one is listening to how you feel about the course of things. It's draining you and you feel the need for escape.

Future: Devil-bondage, hopelessness, materialism. You lack faith in yourself and your capabilities. You feel you are being pulled in more directions than you can handle. You see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it seems unattainable. With strength and determination, you just may reach it though. Just remember that the grass is always greener on the other side.

Outcome: 8 of Swords-restriction, confusion, powerlessness. You seem to be fenced in by obstacles. The impression that I'm getting....is the change won't happen. You feel duty bound...and you've been with it too long to give it up. The trade off is too great. You have limited options, but between the devil and this card, right now your hands are tied.

I know it was pretty gloom, I wasn't sure I wanted to post it, but the cards tell the tale, I'm just there to as insight. Maybe the other job you are going for is too easy for you, not enough of a challenge, a waste of your talents?? I have a feeling that you'll do perfectly fine in the job you have and get the added feeling of accomplishment, and confidence.

Hiya Selenia, Im pulling a card for everyone's week ~ here what I got for you...

Seven of Wands ~ This card shows 7 men all with different costumes (armour, fur, crowns and tunics) on fighting/dancing/playing with wands of fire.
Wands stand for ambitions, passions and desires and as it is a seven (a higher or the suits cards) and there are many people in this card ~ I think you are going to be faced with a challenge this week, one that you may find joy in doing or one that you may not want to do. This card shows that there will be alot of ambition on your side and you will be thinking alot about going forward and winning the battle, fighting fire with fire. This is great because you will have the drive and fire in you to deal with anything but I think you will need this as there will be a challenge.

I decided to holding out against pressure of those that want me to take the new job, defending my exisitng position. I sure that being firm was the best thing to do.

I looked over the 3 card spread and for present/Emperor and my present job is all about
emphasizing structure, creating order out of chaos,
applying reason, coordinating, exercising authority,
taking a leadership role, exerting control,
coming in contact with officials, setting direction, and
applying rules or guidelines. So that is an apt card for describing my job.

For the future of taking the offered position/Devil:
I'd probably be losing independence. The cheif of that service is renowed to be extreemly bossy, a martinet and I'd have to allow myself to be controlled. I'd only be a fish in a little pond operating within a narrow range
experiencing limitation. By not continuing in the position I'm in now, it's as if I would be choosing to stay in the dark fearing the unknown.

For the outcome of taking the offered position/ 8 of Swords: I wouldn't have as much adminstrative freedom and would be feeling restricted staying in a limited situation, trapped by circumstances. Since it comes with less responsibility I know taking it would be a step in
avoiding responsibility.

I decided not to take the offer.
