Greetings and salutation to you all from the Rectory of the Church of Eris. My name is Monsignor Vincent Sebastian Verthaine,K.S.C,Omnibelevolent Polyfather of the Church of Eris(New Orleans),1st*Syllabus of the Illuminates of Eris and POEE pope.(we discordians love official sounding titles)
A little about myself.I am a 42 year old afro-american(1/4 Algonquin indian on my mothers side) currently residing in (what's left of) New Orleans.I've been a member of the Discordian Society for over 25 years,and a Childe of Eris for
far to many lifetimes that I care to remember.

I study taoism,pagan and neo-pagan theologies,chaos theory,quantum physics,technomancy and chaos magick(quantum metaphysics).

I hope to be a productive and welcomed member of this community.

Well I haven't been around here much longer than you have but welcome anyway. Nice to see some more of the Nawlins pagans coming back into the web haunts. Would love to hear more about the Discordians from one, in fact, if you have any recommendations I am all ears.

Have you lived in Nawlins your whole life? I had visited there many times pre-Katrina and found it a fascinating place to visit but was never sure enough about the place to live there. It almost seemed like there were many different layers of reality going on there, from the architecture to the attitudes of the people you met. Never seen so many extreme opposites packed into one place, made Vegas seem almost tame by comparison.

How did you weather the storm(Katrina of course)? Did you stay in city and get evacuated or did you read the signs and beat feet from the area early and in safety? I lost a few very good friends in Nawlins to that storm, though I hold hope that I will hear from a couple of them sooner or later.

Looking forward to swapping theories with you on other spots around this board.

Your right about all the realities going on.N'Awlins is a Trans-Dimensional Nexus Point(why else is was there so many vampires,lycans,dragons fae,etc running around the city).
I stayed through the whole thing.One of the things we teach at the Church of eris is that "Shit happen,deal with it".I knew my home was on jigh ground,and had plenty of supplies(and Eris always helps me out when I truly need her.

Cool, have rode out a storm or ten in my time, though nothing with Lady Katrina's raw force. There is a moment I have found in the heart of such storms where perfect chaos reaches perfect clarity, the catch is whether or not you are too busy saving your butt at the time to be able to appreciate it.
