I was just wondering, how do you view homosexuality, also how did the ancient Egyptians see it, was it supported and was it common like in Ancient Greece and Rome. And are there any gods that are gay or bisexual like in Ancient Greece, you have Apollo.

Thanks

Kemetic Orthodox peoples don't have an official stance. It tends to be "What ever floats your raft... as long as everyone is willing." :)

Set is bi. I think that's it.

Well, there have been tombs found containing homosexual couples, and the Kemetic culture/language had terms for things like "people who are physically male, but act as females in society"... so yeah, it was all pretty okie-dokie and really just depends on how you feel about yourself. Love is a lamp to light up Ma'at in your life; who is right to tell you that one lamp is better than another? Nobody. Du'a Ma'at!

And yeah... Set is bi. Just ask Heru-sa-Aset... hehe.

**grins** Well, the Brat *does* have a lovely backside, after all....

(And before anyone goes clicking the Report button for my being offensive, don't do it. "The Brat" is what my Father Set calls Heru-sa-Aset, and the lovely backside comment is exactly what Set said of Heru-sa-Aset.)

It'd be a stretch to call Nit/Neith gay, but She's androgynous and some of Her titles are "Mother of Mothers" and "Father of Fathers" which is rather interesting. :)

I'm beginning to think that having those two in my divine family tree is part of the reason I am the way I am. (Bi-, but not seriously interested ever being with anyone, ever.)

correct me if I am wrong, cause I could be. But in all my learning of bast, I always felt she was bi, because she is the goddess of sexual and earthly love.

To me bast, has always been the goddess of earthly pleasures, that you would honor her by enjoyment. I know she has her dark side and temper, but she is the purely sensual to me. I think most of the issues with male/ male, female/female etc came out of christian beliefs or jewish. Most others had a do as you want, but all better be ok with it, mentality.

Thank you erincelt, that was a great read. I never did buy that she was just about sex. I just felt that she was sensual.

I'm glad you liked it. I honor Bast in my own shrine, and can vouch that She definitely can be that way at times... I just wish more people would open up to her less... friendly aspects, sometimes. She's like the over-protective mother who soothes and caresses you, as she plots the grusome demise of your oppressors. ;) But all in a lovable sort of way.

That was a fantastic description of Mom, Erincelt. :)

She also has this glare when you aren't doing right by yourself... heh. It's like ice. But most of the time she's so laid back and patient with you - it's only the phenomenally stupid things that get you the glare.

I love my Mother. :D

I have always been drawn to bast. She makes me feel my feline side and yet more. I have always known her for her protectiveness, and well she does have a temper. What have you all found that she likes when prayers are said? For me it is lemon oil in a burner, chocolate, silks and satins if I have them. She even likes if I give my hubby a massage while talking to her.

Chocolate is a huge draw, so are certain types of tea - not fruity teas, but chais and the like, she likes stones, jewelry, jasmine, flowers (she stole the roses my husband gave me yesterday lol). Things that are sensual. She likes windchimes, water fountains.

I find that the things though that She likes the most are the things that I made for Her, be it poetry or drawings. She also likes it when I sing, but that could be me as much as Her.
