Hi Everyone, forgive my ignorance on this subject but I am still getting my feet wet. Can anyone point me in the direction of the Goddess Luna? I have looked on the web the info is so broken up that it is hard to organise into a good enough education! Anything you could provide would be appreciated.

A good place to start would be
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selene

Selene (Σελήνη, "moon") was the Greek goddess name; the Roman name was Luna. The page above has info on both. For more on Selene, see
http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Selene.html

As far as I can see, the Romans simply adopted the Grek goddess without much change. I would be interested in more informed opinions, however.

Try looking up Selene (Luna's equivalent in Greek mythology).

I think Selene is a prettier name so I call her that.

But are they the same person?

Yes, I think so. Everything I've read indicates that they both have the same attributes and Luna (Roman) may be the derivative of Selene (Greek), since it was a common practice to blend Greek mythology into the Roman religion.
