Doing anything special for New Years Eve?? going to a party or staying home and watching it come on the TV. Me I always stay home. Watch the ball drop, call my kids and go to sleep. Sometimes I might have a couple of wine coolers. Me and the cats. Then on New Years day, I plan to watch Law and Order all day.

I'll probably be visiting my mom at work for a few hours (she bartends on New Years eve). Then I'll be trying to convince my rather adorable ex-guy that he should come by and watch a movie with me... seeing as neither of us has other plans and we both recently broke up with our latest SO's on the same day. Convenient, eh? :hahugh:

You know me, you wouldn't expect me to be out celebrating.
I guess I'll mostly be doing this. _inabox_ As usual.
Actually i will be trying to look forward this year, I think I'm more sure of what I want and where i want to be going than i have been so ... if you insist.

well my mother in law, my husband and i are staying home. They'll probably have a bottle of wine or 2,and im planning on getting some non alcoholic strawberry daquiri mix, so i can celebrate with them. I probably will have 1 glass of wine when the ball drops. 1 glass wont hurt me or the baby. :) I'll probably let my daughter stay up also and celebrate... we'll share the daquiri :D lol

Hiding away because I really dislike New Year, I'm a big enough humbug over Christmas but New Year is even worse. All it does is remind me that yet another 12 months have past and all I have to show for it is a few more wrinkles and a crap bank balance. New Year and I are not good friends.

I was going to be going to a party, but then I got my work schedule.... and wanted to burn the place down. My co-workers and I have decided that we will set up a little tv for us to watch the ball drop as we'll have to be stuck there until midnight because our stock truck is coming a day late.
At least when I get home, my husband will be waiting for me and we'll watch a few Cirque Du Soleil shows that we have recorded in our DVR and have a drink or two. :)

Hi Bethra,
Same here. Just sitting at home doing nothing (Maybe I'll do some computer work) and going to bed early to try to fight the boredom. Not only are more wrinkles and a crap bank account for me to look forward to, but living here in the states adds to the crap. In addition, I also get to look forward to more of me rights taken away, more BS, more struggling trying to just afford basic needs, etc. and one of the worst things...another year of loneliness.
I know things aren't so peachy in the UK right now either, but all things considered I would still rather be there....I think. At least I know I would have friends there.
I used to take in a bit of party or something back in the good ol days, but not for the past 7 years now.
Cheers mate,

Hopefully nothing. I don't think anybody even cares about New Year's on the west coast. According to all the stations in New York there isn't anything in the west so it's not like there is anything after Time Square. They just replay it for the west coast.

We're having a huge party :)...Free alcohol, free food and a live band. It'll be fun, but I never look forward to all the work. We're expecting about 60 guests, so it should be lively :)

Stay home. Might go out to the waterfront to see fireworks, if they're being fired on New Year's Eve... it's sometimes on New Year's Day, if there's not-great weather. Probably just go and watch the anime marathon on YTV, if they're playing one this year. I don't know if they are. Haven't checked.
But yeah, I'll be home. Might drop into the chat and talk with you lot. :)

My hubby and I don't normally go anywhere because of all the "crazy drivers" on the road, but the "Fam" is having their annual chili cookoff that night! Can't miss that! Whoever has the best chili gets a trophy and bragging rights for a year. People come from across the country to eat all of that crazy chili! There'll prolly be hundreds of people there! Hey! Maybe we should start charging!
The cookoff will be over before midnight so I suppose that after we get home it will be us gettin' tippsy on champange and me getting skyclad with only my cloak to keep me safe.8O What!? A little bit of sex magick never hurt anyone!

We go out for an early family dinner at a local restaurant we like - we go there every year because they hand out hats and those noise maker things that we bring home and use at midnight. The kids love New Year's Eve because they get to stay up until after midnight and toast with sparkling juice.

We stay home because I don't trust other drivers, too many drunks on the road. I always do a New Year's ritual that I wrote about years ago. I'd miss it if I didn't do it...and I think I'll make new treasure maps for the coming year. Also planning out a rites of passage ritual for the next step in my career.
Oddly enough, New Year's has become a very magical time of year for me over the years.
Oh, and we always watch the countdown from the Space Needle on TV. Great fireworks.
