I told my family about being a pagan. My mother thinks it's awesome:lol: Then again, she's very much into new-agey stuff herself. She claims to be a christian but doesn't believe jesus is the son of God. She's certainly a theist though. My dad doesn't know, but I doubt he'd get really upset. Just sigh and shake his head and claim it's a phase or whatnot. Apparently my political ideology, boyfriend and career goals are all a phase too! My sister knows. She's a closet christian, but it didn't bother her in the least. As for my extended family, well there's really no need to tell them! Although I may tell my mother's side because they are all into new age stuff and believe in spirits, energy, and divination. My dad's side has no need to know, my grandma already harps on my sister for being a vegitarian and dating an asian and me for having an eyebrow piercing :P
So, I'm happy to report that my family is very accepting of my beliefs :D

Great for you! Most of my family knows....my mother is passively aggressively trying to re-convert me back to Christianity, and my sister is very accepting.

That's awesome. I happy for you that you have such understanding parents. Mine were less than thrilled when I decided to step out of the broom closet. They've since gotten over it, but those were some "special" times.

 Glad to hear they're taking it so well. I can understand avoiding the subject with certain family members, but its nice when those closest to you are ok with it.

My own mom was a bit tough to tell, but she surprised me... she actually asked questions and I discovered she's been questioning her own beliefs.

I like you have understanding parents. I look around and see parents pushing towards their religion, and I question it. Why not just use acceptance?

That's wonderful. My parents are like that. I told them I was Pagan. Since I'm 29 years old they said I can believe in what I want. It's great to see how open minded your parents are.

My mom was the one who got me into Wicca, and well, obviously my whole family is fine with it.
My mom is really cook and into really cool stuff, so I am pretty lucky.

My son's wedding was a handfasting at midnight, it was the first that many in our family knew about our "religion preferences", he welcomed anyone that would be open- minded about it and supportive. Several of our family were there, it was kind of funny though, these people didn't have any idea about what to expect, they were totally silent and wide- eyed, like they expected demons to jump out of nowhere or something. I took the position South, my favorite, the minister and I joked around a bit trying to ease the energy level but they were scared stiff! After it was over, everyone was complimenting on the beautiful and meaningful service, and are no longer scared of our beliefs or of us! We are out of the closet now and still accepted!

;) Don't worry It's just a Phase!;)

If she does anyting particularly wrong, just ask her if that's "what Jesus would do?"!

I could never tell my mom. She's almost like a fundamentalist.
