New Apt complete w/ ORBS!

:ghost: In a recent post (I kept finding feathers) This is a picture of my new garage apt. Mom and I went over to take a look and take pics. When I got the pics back I started seeing orbs in them. There is also a Jesus looking image in the glass that is up against the window. I also took pics in the big house while a garage sale was going on, but only a few orbs showed up, as there were alot of people in and out. Alot need to be done and I won't be moving in for a while. I don't feel uncomfortable as I can do a house cleaning but my mom is pretty freaked out as I had mentioned that it might be haunted. What do yall think? I can't say that your apartment isn't haunted, but I can say that I don't see anything paranormal in the photo. The orbs you got are simply dust, and no matter how hard I try, I can't see anything in the pane of glass except a reflection of another window. Whereabouts in the glass are you seeing a figure? Are you able to crop and enlarge that section of the photo?

Ok I have heard the dust thing before and while that is possible, how do you explain that some pics have them and others don't? My mothers place sure has alot of dust and they don't show up on pics taken here? As for the image I will try to crop and resize. Other than that I have only seen them in pics of places haunted, like houses and graveyards.

Regarding the dust orbs, there are a number of factors that can affect the appearance (or lack thereof) of orbs in pictures - the position of the dust particle in relation to the camera flash and lens, the angle of the particle to the camera, the type of material the particle is made up of (dirt, fiberglass, carpet particles, etc.). Orbs will not always show up in photos. I've seen attempts to deliberately capture dust orbs, in known very dusty locations, where no orbs at all appeared in quite a few shots. In addition, orbs have been photographed in many places that have no paranormal activity whatsoever. The most recent example that I've seen was a series of photos taken in our mayor's office. City Hall has no ghostly activity, yet every picture had orbs in them. The simple fact is, orbs do not signify spiritual activity. They're just a photographic anomaly that occurs due to the design of today's popular point-and-shoot style cameras.

I have found that orbs never appear in my first picture - only subsequent ones taken immediately afterwards.

This has always led me to wonder whether the flash from my camera is stirring up dust. Would this be possible - as light is energy, and dust is a minute particle - would it be possible for the energy from the flash to be enough to stir up this dust, resulting in orbs in sebsequent pictures?

It's probably your body movement, rather than the flash. When you move around in a room, even a little bit, you stir up the air, which in turn will stir up the dust.

Yes - have considered that - but when on paranormal investigations - it was practice to only put camera round door in room first and take a few shots before entering. Normally, orbs only appear on second and/or subsequent shots.

The reason I try to find other explanations for orbs rather than them being 'evidence' of spirit activity - is because - as a medium, i have NEVER sensed a spirit at the same time as seeing an orb (yes, I have watched orbs move around as if an intelligent and separate entity) - and I have never seen an orb when spirit is present.

I know most orbs are dust, insects etc - but i have seen a few that have defied the rational, and simply cant equate them to being connected to spirit. I beleive they must be something else totally separate - but what........I have no idea :)

Lots of paranormal researchers now discount photographic orbs as evidence of ghosts. With today's digital cameras, it is far too easy for things like dust, bits of hair and reflections into the lens to show up as ghostly white spots, lines or splodges.

Other everyday objects that can be the cause of photographic anomalies are things like car key remotes and TV remotes. They work by emitting infra-red light, which digital cameras can pick up even though you can't see it. Try it!
