The rules are simple one poem per person per month. There is no word count. To make it just a bit more difficult I want you all to theam your poems this time round. The theam of this month is Snow. Good luck guys lets see what you can come up with :D

Snow

The nights become brighter with snow on the ground
Wherever you’re lost, the snow makes you found
Retracing steps and not fearing cold
Now are you happy, those old boots were not sold?
It reminds you of joyful, carefree days
What fun was the snow, in so many ways
Snowballs and snowmen, sledding down hills
Long before depressions, and credit card bills
Long before you had to drive on the ice
Oh, wasn’t the winter just ever so nice?
After the fun was a warm fireplace and cocoa
You silly groundhog, don’t let the snow go!

Sweet Winter

In the sky a misty moon speaks...
Tales of an ice goddess
Of beauty and peace

Snow topped trees...
Are missing their leaves
Let’s go inside before we freeze

The snowflakes start fallin’
Hope it’s like that ‘til mornin’

Fireplace warm
Window’s invitin’
Keep the cocoa comin’
I’ll turn down the lightin’

White blankets form
As large confetti are born

Warm within, cold without
It’s winter in all her glory
Tomorrow we’ll come out

Whispers.....

Just a breath
A quick exhale
To gently touch
Then no one fail
To see me as
The one I am
A simple soul
My qest the plan
To seek out life
Love, Faith, and Why
That then we know
Wherefore of strife
This glimpse of the world
As others see it
Is what we get
When reading other poets edicts
So I reach out
To understand
That we may find
Commen ground on Which to stand

i must have knew you once upon a time ago
in a land far far away
was it in a valley
or maybe on a mountian top
that you held me in your arms
and promised me the moon

many moons ago
i have no memories of our time together
but its a feeling felt deep within
must have been fate that led us to each other again

maybe then we had it so easy
no waiting yearning and wanting
so this must be why
the distance is so great
seperated by a land of hills and water... mountains and valleys

to make us stronger
to never let us take for granted
what was takin from us so long ago
has come back
in such a torchurous way
to teach us lessons we didnt learn back...

when you and i danced on water
flew through skies so blue
around mountains so high
back when i knew you
and layed in your arms in valleys of flowers so lavender
and gazed at stars in skies of black

some day one day
may be far far away
we will be once again
and it will be magic
thems be true words
:)

This does not fit with this months challange. Define how this relates to "SNOW"

"Mommy it Snowed" Ally exclaimed
I walked to the window and
took a peak
"It surely did"
This leads me to wonder why
I have never made a Snowman
Mom never took me out there
never took the time to teach me something so simple
My children are 4 and 7
and to this day I have not made not one single Snowman
Not out of snow
I paint them on eggs
Put little candles in them
and light them on
Christmas Day
Coming full circle
It's like I can't do it without someone to
show me the way
My Mom to take me by the hand
and walk with me ouside in the fresh Snow
and make balls of Snow
into Snowmen
25 of them to make up for each winter
They Went Unmade & Ignored

SnowStormaJean, you were so like your name
Ya froze me out, I wonder how you've been.
Will you come back again, same time, next year?
I went to where we met, but you weren't there.
They say each flake is different,
mathmatically or proportionate.
I tried to see you
But couldn't see through the storm.

I don't live where there's snow, so, I just gobldygooked something down.

here's my entry:

A torrent of white
Swirling down to meet
The frosty earth below
Drifting on a bitter wind
The delicate little snowflakes
Land softly on my nose

Melting slowly
Leaving tiny droplets
Of chilly water on my nose
A small taste of winter’s bitter touch

I'll post. This was one of my first pieces published.

SnowFlake

There's a change in the seasons.
Leaf's turn red, yellow, brown.
A season that beckons me,
I impatiently wait for it to hit the ground.

Pure as light.
As light as the wind.
Each a different shape and size.
They are my tiny friend.

Only for a second will I see them.
Once, never again.
But anew with each year.
Will come to me, as a friend.

Dropping lightly with a chill
Upon my palm.
My eyes meet thee and as they fade
Forever a happiness they bring to me.
A season that beckons,
The eye to see the small.

ice twinkling in the dawn-light
a breath of surprise
for new-opened eyes
and crystals hung from every branch
beautifully arched
over shattering pain

it's never the same.
dance, dance, dance
in the wind
that stings in your nose
and tears at your clothes
Always slicing through.
The tears in your eyes
hurt from white-blinding skies
still.
envelope me screaming gasping in
know never forever
snow.

Hi. I am not sure if this one qualifies or if it is too 'free' on the subject? _inabox_

a groundhog slumbers beneath the earth
awaiting springs revirth,
for if lifes clouds have
brought us sufficently down
then we need spring
but if we've been riding high to much
we need the harshness of winter to toughen up

What's snow? I'm mostly kidding, but it doesn't snow here ever. I'm not sure I can write about something that I barely remember, but I'll try.
