So I just recently started studying the runes.

One of the booksI have recomends carving them one at a time and carrying each new rune on your person for nine days (Cause the norse love that number for some reason....). Your not necessarily supposed to meditate on it but keep it, its meaning and song in your mind. Its supposed to help you get to know them. It sounds like a good idead to me.

I was just wondering if anyone else had a different technique.

I did something similar when I learned my runes. I didn't carve mine, but I did spend a decent amount of time with each to let my life teach me the meaning of the runes. I may have spent about a week or so with each one. I meditated, watched daily signs, and watched what my life did while studying each one. I also journaled all of my experiences, the physical, the dreams, and the spiritual journeys.

But I didn't follow any set rules, such as how many days to hold each one. I just learned what I felt I needed to learn from each and moved on when I was ready. I fully intend on doing this rune journey again sometime because I *know* that there are vast volumes more I can learn.

Never heard this one, seems a bit extreme; but other than taking a up lot of time that could be used to understand the system of the runes as a whole, I guess it would be OK...
