Hi, folks! It's here!
Another addition to serve all of our wonderful members in this community. Thanks to KellyP (Geezer_Druid in #talk), Mithrea, and Czech for the donations that made this software possible. About 72 community members have been listing their auctions for a few weeks as we worked through the rest of the kinks and there were not that many to begin with...most were category issues. We have already have members that have made some sales and items have been shipped, folks. The software works and it is truly powerful. We just have to USE it. Dig out your stuff, get your cameras ready, and sell. Open an online store! Post a want ad for things you are trying to find! It's free at the MW Marketplace! Keep reading...
All you have to do is register at the MW Auction site (I believe in privacy. Your information would NEVER EVER be sold or given out to anyone else...period) and registration is free. From that point you have the ability to list an unlimited number of items for free, you can create and manage your own online store...for free, and you can place an unlimited amount of want ads...for free.
So, what's not free? The only charges you would ever have in the marketplace are for extras like listing in multiple categories, bolding and highlighting your listings, displaying a thumbnail and featuring your items on the front page and category pages. These charges range from .40 to $1.50 USD.
Why do I charge for this? Well, because it's an extra perk and if I didn't then ALL of the auctions would be bold and highlighted and etc, etc. It would be a mess to look at. =) Plus, the money helps run the community.
The cool thing is that MW Subscribers get *everything* for free (details below). All of it. Thumbnails, listing in multiple categories, bolding, highlighting, featuring, etc. I am doing this to encourage subscriptions. I don't want to throw subscriptions in everyone faces throughout the community all the time. I mean, I need the money to run the place and I understand that it is ok to do so when it is your one and only job that you spend about 14-15+ hours a day working on it. The reason I opted for doing this is because once the marketplace picks up and starts getting traffic and attention then I can move monetary focus over to there and well, try to attract subscribers through there instead of pestering you guys every once in a while. I'm sorry....no matter how long we have subscription and subscribers I will never get used to actually trying to 'get people to subscribe'. I'm just not good at that part of it.

But, I am good at promotion and I can promise to build the MW Marketplace into a hopping place with tons of shops and products for *everyone* to buy from in our community. And always keeping our Pagan and Pagan-friendly presence known while doing it, because I have no doubt the outside world will be coming to purchase your wares.
That's it. Let's really use this thing, folks. The more we use it as a community, the more I can attract folks from the outside to come and buy your stuff as well. The feedback system on this software is great, so we can rest assured that we will have ways of retaliating against deadbeat sellers and buyers. Think of it as our own mini-ebay run by the community and for the community...not some nameless corporation.
