This is one of those stories you just have to share.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10787534/

Some of my favorite lines from the story:

But not if Armin Meiwes, who was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for eating a man he met over the Internet, has his way.

In Germany, killing and eating someone is only worth 8 and a half years? I thought the US had a screwed up legal system.

"I feel used," said Meiwes, who filmed the killing and confessed to the crime but denied it was murder since his victim volunteered to be eaten.

Dude, when some says "eat me", they're blowing you off, not giving you an invitation.

That's one of those stories where you aren't sure what to be most disturbed about... probably why there's such an urge to share it.

"His lawyer said Meiwes wanted to prevent "Butterfly" from depicting a "false and stigmatized" version of cannibalism that could adversely affect the trial's outcome."

Uhrmm...and just what version of cannibalism would not stigmatize it???

I guess he wants a true and stigmatized version.

Actually, according to the research of people interviewing cannibals, we taste like pork.

I guess if you murder someone and dispose of the body in such a way that the victim's family doesn't incur expenses for a casket or cremation, the German justice system considers that a favor and lessens the sentence :hahugh:
