Hey all, If I'm not around for the next few days( and if any one should miss me), we've got a Winter storm heading our way. Our power lines will never stand the strain if there is ice! Will keep you posted! Love and hopefully not to be frost bitten, Old Witch.

Well, I'm still here, but I'm watching it snow as I type. We'll be ok as long as we don't have ice. Got enough food, water to do for a few days. Have a portable kerosene heater if we do lose power. It's not that we are going to have so much snow, it's just that we're not equipped down here to handle it. Heck, I had 3 feet high impatiens blooming off my back porch up til Dec. 20. I'll update later on if I can.:D
Snow Day!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's an ice storm! Maybe it will turn back to snow before it can do to much harm. :(

Hope the storm blows over without a problem. Glad to hear you are prepared. Be careful and try and keep warm.

Thanks, Stormray! I don't know how we still have power! The freezing rain just keeps on and the trees are really drooping and bending. The weatherman says its not gonna end until around noon tomorrow. Well, maybe we'll be lucky. Good night all. OW

Were suppose to get a storm this sunday into monday. I hope we get tons of snow! ( I love snow ) everyone around here calls it "the dirty word" I love all seasons, and I used to be outside in the snowy weather all the time as a child. sledding, building snowmen and forts, and cross country sking. I tried to ice skate, but I could never stand up ! hehehe
I hope your storm has passed old witch! snow is ok, but ice can do damage. Unlike the LIL squirrels that are chewing at my roof! lol we put up wire mess to keep them outta the holes, and now their scratching at the wire!! and chewing at the wood to get under it... Maybe if we get some snow, they'll leave my house alone, otherwise i'll have a roof to repair in the spring!

Blessed be!

Hi all. We're still here! I'm impressed with how the power lines and trees are holding up here. The ice stopped around 6 am, and big fluffy flakes started. It's snowing to beat the band right now. Of course we've been playing in it all morning! Expect Flu in 7 to 10 days..hehe... I took some pictures earlier, if Sean and I can figure out how to do an attachment, I'll share.

Wow, Old Witch, that's amazing!! You know something funny...usually we have about a foot of snow by now, and we're lucky if there is two inches out there...our area is famous for our mild winters, but because of the high temperatures (high being about 25 to 30 degrees fahrenheit), we usually get dumped on big time....three winters ago we got six feet in March!! And yet I look outside right now and it's sunny and mild and there's patches of grass poking out in places...I DON'T GET IT!!!!!

Thank the Gods I'm not a skier or sledder (snowmobiler)!!

Wow! We hardly ever get snow here. :( Where do you live? The long range forecast kept saying snow anyday but it never happens. Just rain. Blech!

I live in South Carolina and we get snow like this maybe every 10 yrs. or so. It's over now....whew! They've already cancelled school tomorrow, it's not gonna get above freezing today and our low tonight is supposed to be 17. I fear for some of my more tender perenials in the garden, but that will work out in the spring. :(
