OMG I think I am in sooooo much trouble and I dont know what to do!!! We used to live in San Diego, back in like August and unfortunately I landed myself with a red light ticket and a $400 dollar fine. I had it postponed and then they said I could do traffic school. Well I dont have any money to do traffic school let alone pay the ticket. Well the ticket was due on the 9th and my friend said I could do payments. So I called the courts and they said I have to come in and do that, well I live in Oregon now so they said just write a letter and request payments. So I did, on the 5th- BEFORE the postage went up. Well my stupid mail carrier didnt pick up the letter- and I just found out this today. And it was due 2 days ago!!! I am screwed! I'm freaking out about this what should I do????? :(

You aren't totally screwed, send the letter anyway. You may still be able to set up a payment plan but it may affect your record until it is payed and traffic school is completed. This means you'll have to spend more money on insurance and possibly fines. Don't freak out though, money always shows up when it's needed. You'll work it out. I had a far more serious situation that turned out to be nothing. Now my record is clean and I get a good driver discount! Good luck

thanks...I have had tickets in the past and I have never been late, so I will call the courts and send it back off in the mail. Anyone else have had these types of problems??

Just re-send the letter and if you can call them to let them know what happened.

i find that if you keep in touch, that shows that you are wanting to pay the fine, so just let them know you are sending it in the mail, and after you send it, give it a week and call to make sure it was received
