Okay, so first off, I'm wondering where one can look in their chart (or anyone else's) for career indications BESIDES the midheaven, because mine is quite afflicted. What I've found is mostly "there are other indicators besides the midheaven" but nothing very concrete. I know the 6th house indicates work, but mine's empty. So where do I look? Being that I have Neptune conjunct my MC, plus my SN conjunct my MC, I need some help figuring this one out. Is there anything else that's specific or is it just looking at the whole chart in general?
My second question is....well, I had this transiting mars sextile my venus (until Jan. 19) and what astrodienst said was TOTALLY opposite to what happened. I got my heart shredded and smashed into little pieces and stomped on....*cough* instead of this loveliness that was supposed to come about. I understand that other transits and factors probably changed this, but I don't know what they were, and the fact that the transit started at about the same time my heart got hurted makes me wonder what was going on. Like, if mars started to go retro in August (when this transit started) could that have made this transit end up backwards?
Sorry to dwell on my own chart here, but I thought these questions might be helpful to other novice astrologers like myself, as well as clear up my own confusion, so I'm askin.

2Wicky,
Please do not bother to be sorry for dwelling on your own scope. That is how I learn astrology and how most everyone else does too. It is how we come to understand ourselves and our destinies, which makes us better astrologers.
Meanwhile, we also all learn about astrology by studying your chart and engaging with your life's story and your questions. Personally, I attempt to balance my writing about/investigating my own scope, with my investigation of other people's scopes here at Mysticwicks. It keeps me vulnerable, exposed if you will, and certainly prevents others from imagining that I have the answers for them. Astrology has lots of insights to offer, but personally I am busy grappling with my own challenging scope/life, just like you and the rest of us. Life is deep and wide - rarely easy.
Can you repost your scope here?

Hi, Wicky - don't know if you've posted your birthdata before, but I'd be happy to take a look if you post it again. We often have "blind spots" about our own charts - I know I do!
As well as the MC, you need to look at the ruler of the MC (modern and traditional). Also, don't forget planets in the 10th house, and planets near an angle (Asc, MC, IC, Dsc) - even if the planet is technically in the earlier house (eg if you've got a planet near the Asc but actually in the 12th, it counts).
The ruler of your Sun sign will also be significant.
As for Mars/Venus, I think it depends on the state of your natal Mars and natal Venus. I tend to have bad Jupiter transits, and I've got a badly placed Jupiter natally.

Woops, forgot the birth data :D
I put the asteroids on, just in case (I don't have a good understanding of most of them).
Thank you.

Hi, Wicky - well the ruler of your MC is Saturn, so he's going to be significant. He's in Scorpio, making a sextile to your MC. He's in Scorpio, Pluto is in Libra, so there's also a sort of mutual reception going on here between the two. The Pluto link and the Scorpio Saturn makes this a very intense Saturn good at "digging" and researching, and the occult. You also have Neptune on your MC - this would suggest a Neptunian flavour to your career. This could be something obvious like a connection with the sea, or it could be working with people with Neptunian issues (drugs or alcohol). I don't think your MC is necessarily afflicted - that sextile to Saturn gives you a lot of focus.
The ruler of your Sun sign is also Saturn (and Uranus). This is a pretty strong Uranus, next to Jupiter in rulership and sextiling the Moon.
I'd also look for quintiles - you've got one between the Sun and that Uranus/Jupiter thing - so I think it emphasises the excitement about new ideas.
I'd say researcher or systems analyst/computer programmer would work, depending on your interests and education. Astrologer of course would also work, and I think you're already proving yourself here in that field :)

2wicky,
You have such an amazing chart. With NN conjunct your IC in Cancer, it would be so good if you could work at home. Making OM is important for you this life.
Neptune/South Node/Midheaven conjunction. I am fascianted by this! And your Rising is Aries, so we know you are here to be an adventurer but that makes your Ruling planet Mars, which is in the 12th House (conjunct P of Fortune and Venus) - more Neptunian stuff. Are you a powerful dreamer?
And check out all the stuff in Aquarius in the 11th, and remember that Neptune is transitting that chu chu train. Neptune is conjunct your Juno right now. You married?
Then there is the fabulous Jupiter/Uranus thing - so creative! And that heavy Saturn/Pluto conjunction, that strict teacher, that a couple people here have - you don't get away with nothing.
So if you could do anything you wanted to in the whole wide world and be well paid and greatly appreciated for doing it, what would you choose to do?
Like Fluffmeister, I sense a deep researcher - or maybe a writer, working from your home.

Also, I've foud that the Part of Fortune can indicate fields you might like to have as a career. Yours is in Pisces in the 12th, part of a stellium with Venus, Mars and Vesta. Do you like music, literature (especially romantic), art or volunteer work? Whatever you choose to do, you throw everything you've got into it, with that conjunction to Vesta (indicates dedication and focus, but also where we need to retreat and recover). You're not into the whole 9 to 5, corporate job - you see right through that. You need time to yourself and won't want a career that puts you in the spotlight.

Ok, so it might not be as bad as I thought :) . I guess I'm good at "digging" into subjects when I want to. I'm not sure if it has something to do with that Saturn/Pluto in the 7th or the Pluto in Libra but the law/criminal justice type of stuff is something I find interesting, so paralegal is one career I'm considering, for now. I like to learn but sometimes lose interest in things too fast to make a career out of them (Jupiter/Uranus/Quintile + Nepune on the midheaven = interest ADD maybe). If I had the patience with details it takes to be a computer programmer I'd love to do that because I like computers and they make good money but details drive me nuts. Astrology is also something I find pretty fascinating and I hope to keep studying until I can really make some sense of a chart and give real readings, but I'm glad I'm not doing too bad so far, er I mean thank you :). And thanks for taking a look for me.

2wicky,
You have such an amazing chart. With NN conjunct your IC in Cancer, it would be so good if you could work at home. Making OM is important for you this life.
I think eventually I'll end up doing interior design work, even if just on the side, because I really love houses, just in general, which might have something to do with that NN conjunct IC in Cancer. I love to look at different houses/types of architecture/floor plans and the more Neptunian stuff comes in with designing (color, aesthetics)...like making a room into art in a way.
As far as the Neptune on the Midheaven, I have a strong Neptunian flavor in my chart and I definitely have Neptunian interests, but the South Node conjunction....I have no idea what to make of that. What little I can find on the net about it is kind of confusing. I remember something about public defaming? Compared to what I hear about most people's dreams mine are pretty boring and I don't remember them a lot of the time so I don't know what that's about. A lot of the time it's just a bunch of random confusingness but there's a strong feeling from the dream.
And check out all the stuff in Aquarius in the 11th, and remember that Neptune is transitting that chu chu train. Neptune is conjunct your Juno right now. You married?
Heh, no I'm FAR from married (see question 2). I'm taking a break from relationships for now.
Sometimes I'm glad that I don't get away with anything because I don't want to cause others harm (and I believe that's when we go wrong, or part of it) but then again we don't always see when we're causing that harm so that Saturn/Pluto can seem unfair. I hope it's there to keep me on track.
If I could do anything I wanted to and be well paid and appreciated for it.....well, it would have something to do with travel (to places I actually want to go to, seeing the natural, and manmade, beautiful world), something to do with "good", interesting people that I can learn from, Neptunian stuff (film? photography? music?), something good for other people/the world in some way but I'm not exactly Mother Theresa...maybe just raising people's awareness/knowledge or making them feel better about themselves, some spiritual component somehow, and I admit that good food, humor, and some of that fun glamorous stuff would be part of that DREAM job....but I realize that's a LOT to hope for and it's probably everyone's fantasy (a lot of Neptunian/Jupiter and some Aquarian ideals thrown in). I'd settle for some version of that, but I'm mostly thinking about some kind of security right now and hopefully working towards at least some of that dream eventually.
Like Fluffmeister, I sense a deep researcher - or maybe a writer, working from your home.

I think it might be possible that one day I'll have something to write about. I haven't led the most normal life (but definitely not the most interesting either), but I'm only 23 (in feb). Who knows though, I might have something interesting to say one day.
Thank you Rose :).

Yup, lol. I definitely have an interest in music and artistic stuff....film moreso than literature, and helping people. I wanted to get into marketing but when I thought about what that really meant, it just wasn't for me. A corporate job is also definitely not for me; I don't have the drive it takes. I just wouldn't survive all that. Of course I'm a 12th house Sun vampire too (can't clear my head until 6pm), and too true, I really can't stand the spotlight. The only thing is that most Neptunian/Pisces/12th house stuff doesn't make for the most secure living, but there are ways to keep these things in my life.
Thanks KEishin.
