I wrote about it in the beat-up notebook that serves for my book of shadows, and I think it's interesting.

As the title says, I've given meditation a shot. And I actually went through with it instead of quitting after three minutes! I lasted for around twelve/thirteen minutes, which is HUGE because I'm an impatient person.

I decided to lay down on the floor in the corpse position and keep my eyes closed, and it seemed to work since I managed to keep my mind clear of thought. Except for a guitar piece from My Chemical Romance that was stuck in my head (I think it actually helped clear my mind because I was focusing only on that.) Aside from the draft, there were no distractions.

Somewhere near the end, I had a sensation of falling into a cloudless turquoise sky. It lasted for one second, and at the same time I saw my entire living room as clearly as if I had my eyes open. And I think I felt a weird little jolt in my forehead.

I believe my third eye was opened for one second, because I know my eyes were closed then; right after I saw the sky and my living room, I opened my eyes and stood to check the time, then went to get my book of shadows. In a few quizzes I've taken, my results are usually quite high in clairvoyance and clairsentience. If anyone has feedback, it's most welcome.

The sensation of falling and seeing colours, especially dark purple (red to blue), is often associated with the physical condition of drowsiness. Is it possible that you simply got tired? Note that you were also in the corpse position which is much like sleeping, no?

It remains possible that something else did happen. Although, I've never heard of anyone checking the time while/after meditating. I think the best part of meditating is complete relaxation, and forgetting about the mundane; just letting go for a little bit. Usually I don't go into real meditation on Sundays, cause that's when I have time. Regardless, I meditate twice per day.

I understand the falling thing, I think. Its a werid sensensation I have attributed to reaching new levels of consiousness, but I don;t know it its normal as such. I got it the first time i mediated...I thought it was an earthquack....
As for seeing your living room, you often get images in your mind (especially if you are actually mediating on an image), but its up to you to diffirentiate between what is jumbled pictures in your mind and actually visions from your higher state of being -claivoyance.
And yeah, I always grt songs stuck in my head and they piss me off something chronic. So now I actaully mediate to music (the right stuff, not My Chemical Romance). Some people say it disrupts possible clairaudience, but I have not had a problem with that at all.
May I recommend meditating on something? And when I say 'on' I mean like on a mantra, a crystal (Flurorite is great by the way) or an image (of like a lake or something) in your head. It can be frustrating and boring to mediate on nothing but silence. You can even branch out into walking and writting meditations. And as for timing, some start out just mediataing for 1 minute, gradually building it up- but do try and do it every day. People use alarm clocks even, but I couldn't think of a more disruptive way of coming back to the real world...its bad enough in the morning...:awilly:

In response to Ron- No, I don't think I was getting drowsy. However, that IS also an issue in yoga, to make sure you're physically relaxed instead of just sleepy. The draft in my living room also made it impossible for me to get drowsy, because I HATE cold. And I was just checking the time because I wanted to make sure I wasn't spending too much time trying to meditate.

To WhiteWest- I know that My Chemical Romance isn't the best to meditate to, but that morning I actually woke up with the song ALREADY stuck in my head. That tends to happen a lot with me, especially after dreams. No matter how hard I try, when that happens it takes at least a day to get it out of my head.

I appreciate the feedback from both of you, and I'll keep that bit in mind about meditating on crystals/images. I also heard that meditating on candle flames works.
