Diagnosed with a serious illness

I was recently diagnosed with an auto immune disease which is effecting my lungs, heart and possibly bone marrow. I've been too ill to work for 8 weeks, life has been a round of doc visits, hospitisalization, tests, er visits...

I'm now on lots of medication, some days are better than others. I don't know when I will be able to grocery shop, clean house, go back to work...I do have a fledgling writing career, and can concentrate on that some.

I am 49, married, 3 kids. I left the Christian church about 4 years ago, and am only on the fringes of the pagan community here...i feel isolated, so thought to post here.

i am so sorry for your news , i hope your health improves. they have really mastered the medication thing with that now. please stay positive it is your best defence! :hugz:

Thank you all for your kindness. I read and feel less isolated, more positive. And really, my situation is far less severe than many people. I have a loving family, some financial stability...

The steroids are working, my breathing is much better. I was very glad to see I hadn't gained any weight--one of my big concerns is about the huge weight gain your hear about while on steroids. I have a couple of medical procedures coming up that will stop internal blood loss and then I will have more energy all around.

I've decided to hang out around here, to send energy for others. Thank you all.
