Has anyone else woken up with a song stuck in their heads? I woke up this morning from a very good dream with a REALLY sad song stuck in my head. This isn't the first time, but it's a bit puzzling. (My actual dream is in Dream interpretation.)

Yep. Usually, it's some horrible crap from 1978.

Little Billy recommends a tinfoil pirate hat.
It has to be a pirate hat, or it won't work.

Thank the gods! I'm not the only one who wakes up with songs stuck in my head! And as far as I know, most of them don't seem to be linked to anything. They're just stuck in my head since probably before I wake up.

Yup, it happens to me all the time, too. This morning I woke up with the theme song from Zelda, a Link to the Past stuck in my brain and it won't go away no matter what I do. It's kind of creepy - almost like my life has turned into a video game with really irritating background music.

I also heard that tinfoil pirate hats are best if the tinfoil used to be wrapped around a sandwich. And it's preferrable that there is a little egg salad left in it.

:yayah: that's great. I wake up with a song stuckin my head at times too. Then it takes all day, to get it out. So, no, your not alone! *oh, and you poor thing.. I hate the background music in video games.. they are so annoying, and to have one stuck in your head all day.. Goddess / God Bless You!!! *

There are times where I'll wake up with a song stuck in my head, there are others times where I'll be in half-sleep and it sounds like I'm reading something to myself in another language. Apparently it makes complete sense to my subconscious.

It happens almost everyday. And the song won't go away until you hear it on the radio or something. Drives me crazy.

MM ~ That's how really good songwriters get them, they pick them out of the air! Sing them into a cassette recorder or something, don't let them get away.
As far as pre-existing songs, I think they are messages. Someone/something is trying to tell you something and the song is the vehicle. It could have to do with the lyrics, or with the associations you have with that song and/or artist. It can be as maddening to try to figure out as a very cryptic dream or crystal vision. There was even a "Medium" episode about this! Of course Allison heard the song so loudly she couldn't hear people talking. She followed the sound, it led her to an object belonging to a woman who had been abducted, if I remember correctly.
I keep a little journal with stuck songs, dreams, crystal visions and card readings in it. You'd be surprised how relevant this stuff is. It can be difficult to figure out while it is happening, though!

And this is EXACTLY why I'm learning how to play the guitar now. :) I want to be able to preserve the stuff that is in my head because there is a lot of stuff that was in there that is gone now. I don't want that to happen anymore.
