Yeah. Um, I like rice and all, but white rice is just so boring, so I was wondering, what kind of spices could you add to it to make it a little better tasting? I usually just cook Dainty Rice with the Chinese seasoning, because that's the only stuff that tastes any good. So... any suggestions?
And a really stupid question. What's the difference between soy and soya sauce? Is soy sauce just a lot more concentrated than soya sauce? I've wondering this for a while. XD

There's no difference between soy and soya as far as I know.
Look up recipes for rice pilaf and seasoned rice on the many recipe web sites out there or just play around and have fun!

Are you something of an herbalist? I use all of my fun herbs for both magic(k) and cooking! Lavendar and rosemary are great in rice, add it to the water. You can also add vinegars to the water Balsamic, rice vinegar etc... Ginger is terrific. I can't get enough of white pepper! Use fresh herbs for a more potent flavor, dried for a more subdued (if you use lavendar I suggest you use dried, it can over power food).

When I boil white rice I add turmeric and ginger powder to the water, which colours the rice and adds a little bit of a spicy kick. When it's cooked I stir in a generous shaking of black pepper, a little butter and a pinch of garlic. That's nice. :)

I started buying different kinds of rice for different flavours too. The family favorite is Jasmine rice because it smells like popcorn while its cooking. and tastes a bit like it too.
It depends what you are making with it, but there are different seaoning combinations that taste good like rosemary added to the cooking water to go with chicken or paprika after the rice is cooked to go with beef.
I often make mexican flavoured rice and black beans with lots of spices: cumin, chilli powder, garlic powder paprika and some chopped green pepper and onion as well. You can eat this plain or put it in a taco wrap or shell with cheese and sour cream.

Try doing a pilau-style rice. Add a couple of green cardamoms, a star anise, a couple of cloves, a bit of whole cinnamon or cassia, a tiny pinch of cumin seed and another of fennel seed to the pan before you boil it.

My favorite dish of white rice is a whole meal. chicken brests cooked with pineapple juice in your rice toss in some broccoli while steaming and pineapple chunks right at the end (just enough to let it get warm).
other than that i like rice with lemon pepper (great with lemon pepper fish) or the classic rice with cheese
