Hello!

Hope I'm posting in the right spot but if I'm not, feel free to move me.

I need some help designing a serious kick-a** medicine/mojo/whatever-you-personally-call-it bag.

I know of a girl (we'll call her Sam) who was sexually abused most of her life by her step-father and last month her mom, who was her whole life, shot herself.

The step-father ran but was caught after abusing a little girl. Sam now has to testify against him but is so terrified and traumatized (to the point that she was injuring herself) by the whole thing that she had to be hospitalized and last I heard had nearly completely shut down.

I would like to design a seriously powerful bag that she can keep or wear (when they allow her) when she needs protection, strength and healing.

I only have one problem, she lives in the States and I live in Canada so I have to be careful about what herbs I use and I don't have a clue what ones will and won't make it across the border.

Thank you so much for any help. My heart breaks for this girl and I want to help her any way I can.

Blessings :hugz:

a bag? why not make a talisman impregnated with certain desires and effects? why waste your time on a bag? and the girl needs a very good psychiatrist who will help her re-organize her personality and guide her, more then she needs a magic bag.

A talisman is a good idea, maybe something like a rune or combination of runes woodburned into a small piece of wood that she can hang around her neck on a leather thong. Rick can often be found in the Tarot & Divination forum answering questions about runes and he could give you some good advice on this. ChezkWoods (probably misspelled that) could help with information on stones or crystals that would be most helpful. Use the "search" button in the panel at the top of the screen to find either of them and send them a PM.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't have a lot of experience with talismans as I connect better with natural objects than runes and other representational objects but I'll definitely consider it.

By the time I get it done and to her she should be out of the hospital (hopefully) and back into her regular therapy.

Thank you for your help.

I think a magic bag or a talisman or anything would work well right now. It will give her something concrete to hold onto when she's scared or having a rough day. Not to mention, she can look at what you send her and know someone cares. It's a lovely idea you had. Especially since your friend may have to testify in court.

My friend is a Victim Witness advocate and she always lends the kids who have to testify a stone or crystal to hold while they're on the stand. She's had a most positive response from this practice and judges have been known to send a bailff down to her office to borrow a stone for adult witnesses who are having a rough time on the stand. I would think that any object with positive energy would also work.

P.S. Sunflower seeds are said to promote courage.
If you decide on a bag, you can add some of those.

A stable point, but something alot of people do is mix magic with mundane. A magical bag might help Sam's mental body learn to accept and deal with harsher issues if she believes something is helping her along; psychiatrists have a habit of scaring people away, when magic has the effect of cooing them along.

I agree that giving her something to hold might help her find the strength she is going to need to face her abuser and opening herself to healing.

are you talking about a placebo effect here caused by magic?

Not exactly. Perhaps I didn't make myself very clear. Sorry. I do believe in the energies going into this and however she is helped by this and allows herself to be helped by this is up to her.

In any case, having something to hold, whether you believe in it or not, can sometimes be helpful.

I put what energies etc. I can into this and whatever will be will be.

Hmmm, that sounded as clear as mud. Hope I've made more sense anyway.

Using her mind to overcome difficulties can sometimes be more comfortable. True therapy can help, but sometimes it is not always welcomed.

Edit: For the bag, a jaw bone of a dog would certainly help me feel stronger, and more confident. Though it might be rare to get ahold of.

If she's hospitalized they won't let her have anything with cords or points... too easy for her (or another) to use it to injure themselves (or another.)

Perhaps instead of simply a bag, a dream pillow? Or poppet/doll/stuffed animal if you have the sewing skills?
