For some reason every-time when I pull-up my chart at astro.com (always under Placidus) the grid never indicates aspects forming to my 28Aries58 North Node. At another site, however, it shows that there are indeed and they're as follows:
Ascendant square North Node
Chiron semisquare North Node
Mercury conjunct North Node
Venus semisquare North Node
Uranus trine North Node
Neptune trine North Node
Pluto opposition North Node
So, are there apects to my Node or not? I've been under the impression for a long time there are none at all based on what astro.com tells me, but this other site has confused me and I just want to know which one of the two is correct? Once again (lol!) my birth data: May 10, 1986 12:44 AM (00:44) New York, NY.

The other site is using wider orbs...if you go to astro.com and the extended chart selection, there's a box that says reduced/increased orbs, and you put in 150, most of those will show up. It just depends on what size orbs you want to use, which is a long standing disagreement between astrologers, so it's a personal preference thing. I'm not an expert, but I find that the wider orbs can be useful for Sun/Moon/Asc. and sometimes important planets, but the smaller orbs or tighter aspects will be what you notice with the rest of the planets/asteroids or other chart thingies :). You can always read about the wider orb'd aspects and see if they ring true for you or fit in with the themes in your chart.

Thank you, 2wicky! I'm going to trust astro's judgment and just leave their set orb allowance.

There's also the argument about how relevant aspects to the nodes are, of course - a lot of astrologers only look at conjunctions to the nodes (or if the software only shows one of the nodes - North Node - conjunctions or oppositions to it), since the node is a point, not a planet. Medieval astrologers considered planets square to the nodes to be emphasised (they called this "on the bends"), so I use squares to them too.

Is it right to say that the North Node squaring the Ascendant could mean continual distraction from whatever it is you're trying to accomplish and blaming other people for the things that go wrong in your life?

Not just blaming other people, but sometimes just picking a fight. It's done to distract people from seeing the real you, as you tend to be very private.

you have a nice looking bucket involving the sun/jupiter/mars on the ic/mc axis. looks like quite the positive configuration, you probably apply yourself quite well, even if a little excessivly (neither mars or jupiter know when to settle down)
anyhow, i know you asked about the nodes but i figured i'd mention that :D
it would seem the pluto/mercury oppositon might be close enough to the nodal axis for it to be "coupled" by conjunction.. if that's the case, you'd be cutting back on overapplication or misuse of power (pluto cjn south node) and working on your communcation or logic skills (mercury cjn n. node), maybe being less forceful (pluto barges in with a bomb at his will)... just a thought, the nodes are not the easiest thing to interpret.
anyhow, figured maybe an ordered aspect list and different view of your chart would be handy.
cheers!

Thanks for all that, mercuric! About my chart shape - it's once been described to me as a skewed see-saw... not sure if others would agree, but I know my personality is definitely very much like one!

Picking a fight for me often means a nasty argument. I am very private... is that my Sun and Moon in the 4th house? Which of the water houses is most intense? I've once read the 4th house being described as 'the grave' of the houses.

Realize that the 4th house doesn't just represent the home and privaccy because it drew that lot; there's a logical reason. It is the southern direction in the chart, and as such is the base or foundation. The opposite house, the 10th, of course being how high you want to climb in life. Being described the grave might not be too far off. For you start there and return there. As far as which is the most intense, 4th, 8th or 12th, it would depend on other factors in the chart.
A 4th house Moon is very Cancerian in temperment being accidentally dignified, though it's in Gemini. So that's a likely starting point. But don't discount Mercury opposing Pluto, nor the fact than your Moon is apex a pretty firm Yod with the generational Pluto/Neptune sextile.

Thanks for all that, mercuric!
your welcome :D
Picking a fight for me often means a nasty argument. I am very private... is that my Sun and Moon in the 4th house?
the argument.. i think it's more to do with your sun and mercury in taurus. the bull doesnt like it's security challenged. your less likely to be physical (fighting with words, rather than your fist, i gather from your post) because mars in is the 12th... with your will/ego and communication in the 4th, deep within the subjective self, you might harness that energy rather than your tucked away 12th house mars. your capricorn ascendant would rather control and suppress rather than fight, also. mercury in the bull is a valid way to achieve just that.
and yes, the sun and moon in the 4th house would seem like it could draw you inwards.. simply having the sun on the bottom of the scope (house 1-6) can bring you more into yourself and less externally focused. also, taurus does have a big fancy for time alone, especially with someone sensual. taurus seems to prefer one on one rather than a crowd..
with taurus on the IC, you probably feel reasonable and confident in yourself. you might take time to beautify your environment, and likely want your family/significant other to be very comfortable. you like to see yourself looking physically good, and likely find security in relationships. taurus adds earthly grounding, also.
Which of the water houses is most intense? I've once read the 4th house being described as 'the grave' of the houses.
they're all pretty intense, really! but.. in your scope..
i'd say the 4th and the 12th are both strong in your scope, the 8th actually seems fairly weak even by the sign on the cusp and is empty. not a bad thing. neptune, the ruler of the 12th, is in the 12th, dignified by house. this should give you some access to the unconscious and probably some neat intuition. with mars amplified by being so close to the ASC angle ("on your cross") your likely to take action in 12th house matters. sag on the cusp of the 12th tends to give the native a richness of spirit, and plenty of faith in oneself. sag also is an active fire sign, this combination can be good for spiritual persuits. the 4th is also very strong because of the importance of the objects placed there. the most powerful personal luminary (sun), the node (north node), and personal planet mercury. the sun's house is always important, and both other objects are quite significant.
also, the 11th is very important! saturn, the chart ruler is present there. also big, the 11th house ruler, uranus, is at home in your 11th.
oh, i should mention.. i usually use equal houses. most folk use unequal systems, i've just found equal houses to work for me.. many consider the koch system to be the superior unequal house system.. with koch houses, mercury is in the 3rd, its own house. that would bestow additional power upon it in your scope.
koch-housed chart attached :D
