I had a fantastic wonderful amazing important thing happen recently and I wanted to share. :boing:
When I was in high school I had a very very very good friend named Martin, best friend and prom date. In 97 he got into some seriously bad situations, including some nasty drugs and people who I knew to be dangerous. We ended very badly, I had heard he was staying with a guy who was known to be abusive physically and sexually, so I went to the house (in the ghetto of Detroit no less) and literally would not leave until he packed up his stuff and went back to his moms house. I had spoken to her earlier and knew it would be ok. I got in a fight with the jerky guy, and after several hours of standing on the street corner yelling, Martin finally acquiesced and took off. A few days later I called him and he told me off, to put it mildly. Basically telling me to go off and rot.
For years, off and on, I looked for him. Lately I gave up, no leads left to investigate, and partly I was afraid that he would not want to see me anyway.
Last Thursday, I went down to my mailbox, there was a letter with a handwritten address, I opened it and promptly collapsed on the floor in my foyer. The letter was from someone I had never me named Chris, he said that he is martin’s boyfriend and wanted me to call him ASAP to surprise Martin.
Friday night I spoke to him (Martin) for the first time in years, we talked for hours. Apparently, he and Chris have been searching for me forever! He said that he still has pictures of me up in his house, Chris told me that Martin had been talking about me to him since he met him! Its all so fantastic and exciting and wonderful, we were both in tears by the end of the night.
The thing about this that makes it even more amazing to me is the timing in all of this. Someone very important to me had just disappeared from my life two days before Martin reappeared in it, right when I need him the most!
Last night I got to see him again for the first time in years, it was AMAZING!! I just cannot tell you how excited and happy this reunion was!
