I had a dream a little while ago. I dreamt of the apocolypse. Everyone looked different, including myself. The way everyone looked kinda of reminded me of elves. Everyone was tall, slender, had long hair and a very "earthy" look to them.

The world itself was a very different place. It wasn't technology driven as I would have expected. Everyone knew that the end was upon us because of some prophacy written in some old text. I remember the oceans receeding into one spot(I think it was in the Atlantic ocean or posibly the Pacific). Many people gathered and hid in these caves as they waited for the end.

and then I woke up.

any thoughts? this dream has me stumped.

Lots of people see the end of the world as different meanings; some see it as simple nature, others as a horrific doom, and still there are more reasons.

What does the end mean to you? I'd try to apply that to the dream, then I'd just asume that the issue is something else in your life, and the cave-going was a way of hiding from your "impending doom." If everyone knew what was going to happen, why bother hiding?

i had dreams of the end of the world too.
but in this end of the world i took part of destroying the world but changed sides in the last minute.

the reason i changed sides? well an important girl askd for my help.

Oceans deal with our own, deepest emotional and spiritual selves. Dreaming about the end of the world is also emotional. There is probably a drastic emotional change going on in your life or a major spiritual shift of some sort.

Other people in our dreams are usually parts of our Self that we need to look at in some way. Having "many people" take refuge in caves most likely points to the fact that you would like to take refuge from this change going on in your life, but the fact that you, yourself, did not (at least, this is what I gather from your description), shows that you are still willing to face these changes.
