View Full Version : Women-oriented Paths?

The more threads I read, the more paths I find :D
Just out of curiosity...anyone know of a path that is similar to the following:
*Target audience is women. However, by this, I do not mean the stereotypical "independent woman," or "feminists." I mean targeted towards women as a "tool" or "support group" to help further their natural being, i.e. as nurturers, helpers, supporters, for not only their male partners, children, family, but also within the community. This path should be intended to help develop mentally and spiritually, to help others, and to understand one's inner self, not to be against males, etc.
The Avalonian paths were interesting with this respect to some degree.
*No more than two deities, i.e. male and female "God" or just one male or female God.
*Earth-centric/Nature-related.
*Can have rituals/ceremonies, etc.
*An alternative to Wicca or Witchcraft.
Just wondering if someone knows of any paths out there. The more I ask questions and read in the forums, the more I discover interesting paths because someone always suggests a path I did not know about :) This is fun!

A Hera based group is what first springs to my alcohol-addled mind, but there are similar ones outside of the Greek pantheon who fit the bill, I'm sure.

I have heard of women centered pagan groups around where I now live but they all seem to be lesbians and into Cybele. That's good for them and I bless them for it, but I don't suspect men, nor do I want to eclude them from rituals. I ahve been on too many women-only retreats where I have heard of so many stupid assertions about women hood.
Sister you just need to find some good friends and sit with them a while.
It dont matter. I have known some men who understood women hood better than some women, if you can belive that.
I wish you were in front of me in real life. I know a marvelous woman you could talk with.

Thanks. Was just wondering about what paths are out there (not that I want to join them, but just wanted to read about them). Since I consider myself an ecclectic solitary, I do not wish to find a group to participate with in real life. I am already part of a public service Greek-Letter sorority. Nor am I interested in discussing my personal beliefs with a real-life group.
My views are more of a Deist/Pantheist, under Naturalistic Paganism, so I am reading and gathering parts of the "pagan" side of things.
Personally, my Deist/Pantheist views alone are plain and to the point. That's why I want to incorporate some paganism in it to add a little more interesting things.
For example, I believe (in my Deistic/Pantheist view) there is no life after death. You just die, that's it. It's plain, and at times "disappointing," but that's just how I see it, so one must live life to the fullest. This is just an example of what I mean by "plain and to the point" - it's the very basic things about reality using reason. Well sometimes reality is not what you want it to be and you have no control over it.
So, I decided to add a little paganism, whether it's following the Wheel of the Year, celebrating different seasons, or simply incorporating things that I like or can relate to, i.e. Arthurian/Avalon legends, or kitchen witchery, etc.
I hope that I made sense explaining myself here :) Just wanted to share which way I'm going.

Wise Woman Path, aka Wise Woman Way, aka Wise Woman Tradition.
Basically all women groups using herbals as ways to heal ourselves, families, communities, and world.
