View Full Version : Do you live where you were born?

Pol
February 2nd, 2006, 01:47 PM
I was going to make this about States, but that's so US biased.
So, do you live in the town/county/state/province/whatever where you were born?
Same country doesn't count. If you live in a country that is not divided up into smaller designated areas, then just vote based on whether you live in your hometown or otherwise local area.

I sort of still do. College is in a very different part of the state (New York) than home, though during non-school time I live in the same house I've lived in all my life.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, but moved to Colorado 4 years ago.

I love it here and have made it my home, but NYC will always be Home to me.

I was born in Nebraska, grew up in Southwest Iowa, moved to the capital of Iowa after graduating highschool, then moved to Arizona... and now Colorado. :)

So, the answer would be...no. :p

I'm the only one of my extended family not to live in the small valley where we were born (My grandfather, my aunts & uncles, my brother, my cousins, etc.). My husband is the only one of his immediate family not to live in the larger valley where they were born. But we did spend 27 years there (part in his valley, part in mine).

We have lived all over and in Central Texas for the last 9 years. We love it here. We don't want to go back to Montana - too much has changed.

Well, I'm still in Kansas, but now I live about 120 miles - or four counties - away from where I was born and grew up. Been here two years, and this makes the 4th Kansas county I've lived in.

The furthest I got was Santa Barbara, lol.

I live just outside the city I was born in.... I even had my son in the same hospital I was born in.

That doesn't mean I spent my entire life here....quite the contrary, only the first 2 years of it. I only moved back here cuz it's where my husband got a job. :)

Hell no! I live roughly 3 continents and a very long plane trip away from where I was born. If you can find Sydney on the Australian map, thats close enough to it, as no-one who isnt Australian will have heard of where I was born.

So, yeah, I guess I've got around a bit :)

Yep, I live where I was born. I even live in the house I grew up in- my parents had to move temporarily so we rent it from them. It's a nice place to live. I did move away for 4 years to California, but I hated it and was glad to move back as soon as I could.
We'll be moving in a few years, but we're planning to stay close by.

I live in the same state but not the same city. The only reason I was born in a different city is because there are no hospital where I live.
No one in this town was born in this town unless they couldn't wait 30-35 mins. to get to the hospital.
