Uh, that's "BABY Gender Mentor", not "Beby".

Is this a a real product. I don't understand the use of Mentor in the name.
Mentor = A wise and trusted counselor or teacher.

i dont ever think i would use it........there is something nice about seeing the baby for the first time, and then finding out what the sex is

Well, not everyone can afford to have an ultrasound done.
And those ultrasound images are not all that clear. People have thought from the ultrasound that they were expecting one gender baby and were quite surprised when a different gender baby was born.
And, yes, it's a real test (I don't understand the name either): http://babygendermentor.com/default.php

The problem with this, is that because it can test for gender 5 weeks after conception, it has the possibility to create a huge problem of gender selection....people who abort their baby cuz it's the 'wrong' gender.

Woah. I hadn't thought of that. Scary thought.

And ultrasounds don't create that possibility?

I thought it said in the article that most ultrasounds are done around 20 weeks, which is getting a little late for an abortion I think.

I was just looking at that online tutorial, really everything is included in that kit
But I guess they should offer a little service for $300

AFAIK, gender can't be determined with an ultrasound until the 20th week, and also afaik abortions arn't allowed after the 20th week....depends on the place though....some say not after the 21st week, some say not after the 24th. I'm sure there have been some cases of women aborting so late, because of gender, (I think I remember an episode of ER or something when such a thing happened), but its a lot more difficult than in the 5th week.

Aren't allowed? I thought every time a state tried to ban late-term abortions, groups like NARAL got the feds to overturn it?

Well, I know absolutely nothing about the states. I can only speak for Canada. :)
