Hi all! & happy 2002! :D

I got a new deck of Tarot froma dear friend for a Birthday pressi over the holidays, I loved the thought and thanked her for days but :( I dont like it at all and I cant exchange it at the shop because I opened the wrapping around the box.. :(
My friend understands and really wants me to exchange it for another deck too so I asked her if I could ask here, and she loved the idea :)

Soooo... would anyone here like to exchange a brand new ~ never been read from Visconti Tarot deck?
It is a really beutiful deck if you like Renaissance art and gold, as all the cards have gold imprinted on them ~ the major have pictures and so do the minor, king, queens, knights and pages.

If not I think I will frame the ones I like and hang them as a picture :)

Sorry dear, those just aren't my style....although they are beautiful....they are to....dark for my taste. If you can't find anyone here to trade.....try going to the forums at aeclectic, they have a trading section. :D

Thanks Dagda! Great to see you back darl!! :sunny: Happy 2002! :)

To be honest ~ I really cant get why she choose them for me in the first place because they are sooooo not me! But then again I like art so maybe she thought Id like them.. I feel really bad that I dont like them, especially because they are the first deck I have been given as a present.

I dont think there dark, maybe a few ~ just very different, especially there faces and I just dont feel anything for them at all.

i like the large Visconti deck for it's historical value, and to see the source of most of the later decks.
however, that 'gold' deck i don't like. it's the only deck i've ever purposely gotten rid of!
the original Visconti-Sforza deck is the most complete of the 'old' decks, with 76 of the 78 cards still extant in museums or collections. the other two cards (the Devil and Death) have been reproduced to complete the pack. in the large deck the art style matches the original cards pretty well. but in the 'gold' deck it doesn't even come close, and the Devil card is just weird!
