i cnnot imagine one could learn to be cetrtified stone healing therapist after one course, because stone threapy, is like homeopathy, the longer you do it, the better you get
but i have learned, that my take on this often is wrong, now there are classes on all sorts of healings that after attending some few hours you get a paper telling you were certified.
well whatever

I have agree with Czech.
There are litterally thousands of minerals/crystals out there. To even begin to grasp a small percentage of these takes years in my opinion. You may be able to learn the actual mechanical proceedures in a resonably short time but it will still take time to become familiar with each mineral/crystal.
Before using a stone for healing I spend at least a few weeks with it to learn all about it. Lots of times you will come across stones that hold properties outside of what is known about that individual type of stone. To not take the time to learn these underlying powers is limiting not only the power of the stone but also the strength of your healing technique. A few of my most powerful stones are used in healing things that that particular stone's "common" healing properties are not known for. Each stone is an individual and you must draw on that individual's strength to get the best results from it.
I know this sounds like a long drawn out proceedure but for healing, in my mind, this is what it takes to be the best you can be at it. And for healing, I for one, sure want to be the best I can be... especially if others are relying on me. This is a path that is truely neverending.. as it should be.
Lastly, once you have a basic grasp on the above, you need to also keep in mind that you need to be able to relax people and have those people trust you with absolutely no doubt in thier minds. This foundation of trust needs to be built before any healing can take place. In short you need to know how to approach different individuals and gain thier trust in your abilities.
All of the above is just my opinion. Some will agree, some will disagree. Some will say this approach is too long and that they succeeded without 1/2 the effort. The above approach works for me and for me... thats all that matters. If it helps someone else great.
Also, dont be discouraged if my post sounds like it is a lot of work. If you truely love stones and love working with them this will be a wonderous journey for you. And before long you will realise that even though this path is neverending each new bend may hold wonderful surprises and will reward you with glorious insights. Insights that only the mineral world can offer.

Healing with crystals and stones is something that I think you can study a lifetime and just when You think you have learned it all something happens to let you know you still have learning to do. My personal preferance is to learn as much as possible. I do not think the piece of paper means squat though from the courses. Taking a course though may just show you that it is just the tip of an ice berg in your journey of learning.

Goodness I have been using crystals and stones for healing a long time. I have to say you never, ever stop learning. Even now I learn and grow and gain enlightenment. Now by eduaction and profession I am a nurse.

I think it's the same with any discipline or area of study. You can never come to the end of everything there is to learn. A course could be a good place to start from, kind of like a foundation for further learning. It just depends on the quality of the instructors and how detailed the course of study is.

yeah i know its a constant learning process but to do it as a "self employed" job i need a qualification to get the funds i need to start a business (pluss itll look good hanging on the wall, it would proove to clients that i actually know at least a little bit about what i clame to be doing)... i work with crystals alot.. and i love them! its what i believe i was born to do! lol... even people who i have never met in my life have told me i have a special connection to all things mineral! lol... so does anyone know any training organisations...? i'm doing some googling too... but have you heard any good things about any?

Yes you still have to practise but doing a course can still be useful
