I`m not trying to put you down. But you have to understand this is a place to learn past a new age/occult/witchcraft store sheet. in some areas this is good like the tourmalines. i also left out the opals as i just realized i missed the various types. And you should have put that in there.I`m not all knowing, neither is Czechwoods,Wolfsong or any of the others, but we try to strive to be all knowing. there are questions about crystals and stones where we will go Duh!!!.

I really enjoy stones and gems even though i am a fire sign. I have a ring that i inherited from my grandfather. It is a square onyx with two small diamonds, it is the first accessory i have worn in a long time. I finally know what the onyx means, i appreciate it. I blessed this ring and do not leave the house without it, so thanks again for the insight.

I forgot to say that.Sorry_inabox_

its all good, (i think) lightdragon.

we all are sometimes carried away by the cause

it does happen to me
a lot too.

and i very much agree with your post also because of teh motivation behind it. there are loads of sites that gather the main view on stones, and various books as well. it is more than right imo that we want to make a difference on mw, but i also like to see a good, albeit simple summery at times

i`m thinking too much on cartooning critques rather than gem consulting.I also like to see simple summaries as well. IMO I think people learn better from them. I also get frustrated when i see something like this. at least i`m learning

No need to apologize for the critiques. As I said it was a quick 'guidepost'.

I am still discovering all the different types fo stones from colors to geographical locations and different cuts and all that.

The above list is what I started with and it just gave me a platform to know which stones I wanted to look into more.

That is what I wanted to share.

If anyone is interested in a certain stone or 'family' of stones then they should look into it and find out all they can. As and When I learn more about different stones and their many meanings and correspondences I will post more.

This was just a starter list and I agree that it is not very detailed. But sometimes too much detail gets to be too much information that we might not need.

I have been to many gemstone sites and pagan sites and geological sites about gemstones. Some of them tell me stuff that is interesting but not really pertinent to what I want to know while others don't tell me enough, even less than what I posted.

Also I believe that above all else, different stones will have a different feel for each person as we are all different just like the stones. Giving a person a guideline as to what to look for is helpful without giving them false expectations of what the stone is 'supposed to do'.

In my opinion anyways.

I'm a writer, I'm used to the critiques so don't appologize for them, I understood right off that they weren't meant to be a 'downer'. And thank you for feeling comfortable enough to share them.

All the best

I think its refreshing to look at the insights of up and coming students within the mineral world. Although in some ways they may come across as simplistic they each hold a very special treasure. That being the personal insites and experiences of that individual. Often times it takes someone new looking at something from a different perspective to enlighten us all and its these times I truely hold dear for no one, young or old, has all the answers. The important thing is that we do not become complacent in our search within the mineral world.

To have people like Lightdragon and CzechWoods here to guide and encourage people along on thier paths is a wonderous thing for everyone. Constructive critisism is a very useful tool to help guide individuals and I for one appreciate it, even at my age. I think that we all agree we are all on a glorious path...a path that will never end in regards to learning. Even though some of us may have more answers than others we too still learn every day. I still go "DOH!" regularly and to be honest... those are some of my most joyful memories... even after 28 years on this path.
