Researchers are figuring out how to help kids overcome dyslexia (http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-02/uow-bis020806.php) at least with regards to reading and spelling. (I don't know if this also helps with number dyslexia and other forms of dyslexia.)

It's a step in the right direction!

Interesting article. My take on it was scientific recogition of how the brains of dyslexics work differently than average kids. It makes me wonder what we will we discover in the future about how people learn things. I suspect there are even more ways than dyslexia.

I thought it was promising too that the brain functioning observations also indicated which learning techniques seemed to help dyslexic kids move more towards the "good reader and speller" category.
