I know I should know it but I just found it today in a charity shop and fell in love with it. I have no idea what stone it is. I know it shouted at me and made me ask the shop lady to fetch it out the case for me to get a closer look at it. The blue is a lovely baby blue, there is white flecks on it and grey/brown flecks as well golden bits like in rutulated quartz. Whatever it is it made me feel very calm as soon as I put it on and it has helped me a lot today when I really needed it. I'd just like to know what exactly it is.

It's only 3 hours since you posted this. The blue is too light for a lapis.A small chance it is a turquoise. my better bet is that it is chrysocolla. The golden flecks would be pyrite. i`ve never seen rutile like that before.

A shell wouldn`t have such coloring. An abalone shell is gonna have more greens, pinks and silver tones to it. This has gold.

here's a link for one chrysocolla:

From the look and the discription of what it does I think you could be right. I know I was having a very hard time of it earlier today and needed a little something to help level me out. I guess that's why it shouted at me so loud :) :hugz: see told you one or other of you would have the answer :D

While not tourqoise...one of my most fav stones, it could be a comglomerate of different minerals that all came together to form the stone. I can feel the calmness in it myself from the larger pic of it.
