For those of you who read Lemony Snicket, you know perfectly well who Beatrice is and possibly that she died in a fire, depending on which books you've read.
First, I saw Lemony in my school gym, and Beatrice and several other people were lying on the stage because for some reason, the VFD decided to put their wounded in the gym on the stage. And even though I didn't really SEE Beatrice other than that she was wearing red and purple, I got the impression that she was quite pretty. And, she was in the corpse position (in yoga.)
The fact that she's on the stage is probably some sort of reference to her acting profession--she is described as an actor in the books.
Later, Lemony got a message that she was dying, so he ran over to the stage shouting, "Beatrice!" But he didn't get there fast enough, and she'd died by the time he got to her. Lemony was devastated.
Then, Lemony was sitting with a few girls at a table. They were in the hallway to the girls' locker room, which is in the same building (and it IS wide enough for a table in real life). There was a poster of Beatrice on the table.
Either I had switched to Lemony's point of view or I was just there as myself; one of my classmates last year asked me to draw a dragon. I only managed to draw the outline to its head, and I kept messing up on the horns. The dragon I was modeling my drawing after was like the kind in Patricia C. Wrede's Enchanted Forest cover art.
My classmate said, "I don't like it." I was a bit insulted, but I held the picture up and looked at it, then said with a shrug, "I don't like it either."
Then, I-as-Lemony looked at the poster of Beatrice, clenched my fists, and gave a choked, angrily hurt moan. I thought, They expect me to DRAW when Beatrice just DIED! I also remember feeling quite hurt and indignant about their expectations.
Poor Lemony. Even in your readers' dreams you and Beatrice can't be together.
I don't really know why I had this dream at all--I actually had a GOOD day, except for waking up a bit late and having to rush to school.
Could someone tell me what this means? I'd interpret it myself, but I'm a bit distracted right now.
