How might one go about taking sleep from one person, transfering it to a dreamcatcher, and giving it to another? Also how might one change the symbolism of the dreamcatcher so it can function correctly as a catcher for sleep?

What the hell? Look, I only get 4 hours of sleep a night. The last thing I need is for someone to come along and steal what little I have.

Little Billy,
Can't support this.

Well, it's good I don't need your sleep then. I already have a couple college students that are volunteering their's. They get something like 15 hours a night!

Well, that's different. That's not "stealing", it's a transfusion.

My bad.

What college do they go to, and how do they get so much sleep? Anyway, I think your logic is a bit flawed. I think this assumes that somehow sleep is a finite resource that some people have more of, and that it is possible for people to give it to one another. This is, in my opinion, entirely the wrong way to view it. Sleep is an infinite resource in which we may all take as much as we want as long as we know how.

Instead of trying to give someone sleep, why don't you work with them to create states that allow for sleep?

I'm not the one doing the ritual; I'm just being nice and asking. I do know they have tried that and it hasn't worked so they're trying this now. *shrugs*

15 hours of bad sleep is worse than 5 hours of good. Itsthe quality of sleep thatusually matters. They could have nightmares too.

I think maybe a pillow would be better than a dream catcher. Here's my idea..

1 Purple Pillow; fill it with..
A seasponge.
Lavender.
A black stone.
A few strands of hair from your target.

A bottle of blessed water with a little garlic and lavender scent added.

To do..

Sprinkle the water VERY lightly over your target's sleeping area and say, "take sleep for me. take sleep for me. (Target's name)'s rest is what I need."

Put just a dab of the water on the back of your pillow and say, "Recieve the taken sleep of (target's name) and give it to me. Recieve the taken sleep of (name) and give it to me. Make me sleep, make me dream."

Now you can either put the pillow under the person's bed to "charge" - or leave it on your own bed and sleep with it and let it "charge remotely."

EDIT-----------

If you're not stealing it, you could annoint the person's forehead with the water as well as they say, "I give my sleep, I give my rest, so that you may nod your head. I give my sleep, I give my rest, so that you may sleep in my stead. I give my sleep, I give my rest to (your name) so that you may rest. And in return I take a few waking hours."
