Right i have a small problem that needs solving! i'm moving into a new bedroom and i will be setting up a brand new altar in there but i'm having a few technical hitches. I need some representation of the god and goddess, howevermy attempt at making salt dough statues went terribly wrong! only problem is, it's winter at the moment so i cant use like a flower and acorn like i usually do if i get stuck! i'm totally lost for ideas and i know i dont need a god and goddess but i feel much more comfortable with them!advice would be very much appreciated thank you! blessed be! x X x

Have you thought about using candles for now? Just until Spring hits and you can get what you need?
If not, what about going to a craft store and picking up a sea shell for a goddess representation? Or if you can draw (I can not), how about drawing or painting a representation?

For the Goddess aspect, anything silver, a cup with water, a picture of a moon or anything with a moon on it, dried beans, apples.
For the God aspect, anything gold, a knife, or anything with a sun emblem on it, sunflowers, chamomile.

I tried making clay representations, they really didn't work. Really. I currently use a chalice full of salted water and a beautifully painted gold candle.

I agree with the other people. You don't necessarily need to have a representation of your deity made out of salt dough. If your normally have acorns and flowers, you should just wait until you can get hold of these things in a better season. Sometimes things are worth the wait. I totally agree witht the others when they wrote that you should use candles or some other object until you find something that better suits your liking.

Why not just put anything you associate the god and goddess with ...... i use a statue of Bast as my goddess and a small picture of Ra as my god

I use three bejeweled egyptian cats to represent Bastet and a winged Gargoyle to represent the god, but I believe that you should set up your altar however feels more comfortable for you. I am currently trying to set up my altar to welcome spring, I may choose some silk spring flowers to decorate it, I had it set up for autumn way beyond autumn's end, but I allowed it, since it is my favorite season. Ultimately, do what makes you feel best and you can't be wrong! Just MHO
