Well, black tourmaline is something of a favourite stone of mine. However, in the last 3 months, I have had two small "wands" of black tourmaline, and both have been broken!

I know the metaphysical properties of the stone, but I am just missing the significance of them breaking on me! Maybe I'm dense, but I don't seem to be getting the message. Any suggestions?

I am not sure but my understanding is if it breaks it is no longer needed for the purpose you were using it for, cleanse the peices and use them for something else, the other possibilty could be recent drastic tempture changes,

When ever I have had a stone crack or break on me, it had meant that it was finished with it's task and it was time for it to be either cleansed or given abck to Mother Earth. Even putting it in the ground is a form of cleansing in its self.

well I have been told when a crystal breaks that it could mean that its purpose or sue was over like the others have mentioned, or it could have broke cause in some form it was protecting you .

All the times I have had crystals break it was cause of protection situations.

Thanks for your suggestions, folks. I had heard of a few stones that break to signify danger, or break in their duty of "protecting" their possessor, so I guess it's only logical.

Yeah, when they broke I thanked them for their service and blessings and buried them in my outdoor sacred space. It was very emotional, I get very attached to my stones!
