I'm very attracted to Kemetism, but i was wondering something, if i do become a kemetic pagan, and even get a patron deity (or whatever the term is), what would happen if i, later on (like years, or months, etc) suddenly got called to another path (Sumerian, Greek or one of the main ones -Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, etc), would there be any consequences, it's just i was reading on a site that you shouldn't dedicate to a god or goddess or path unless you are sure it's your path (it wasn't a kemetic site but it got me curious) , like would any of the Kemetic gods try and keep me to themselves or would they let me go (or are there people who've left but still worship some of them.

Thanks, and sorry if that sounds a little crazy or something :).

I can only speak from the perspective of Kemetic Orthodoxy, as that's what I am, but I'm sure the gist of the answer would apply to other Kemetic faiths.

Basically, your faith is between you and Netjer. If, as time goes by, you feel the need to take a new path, that is your choice, and Netjer will honor it -- if in fact you see your new path as taking you away from Netjer at all. Plenty of people have done just that, some of them staying involved and some of them leaving it behind them completely, for their own reasons. As my father once told me, "each man has to find his own destiny." The gods seem to have a similar philosophy.

Of course, your milage may vary, as always. :)

I second what Erincelt said. :) You can practice more than one faith at a time, and every now and then, one will seem more right than the other, just like a pair of scales may shift. It doesn't mean that you have to abandon one all together.
