A friend of mine has been very sick for over a year with juvenile rhumetoid arthritis (i'm pretty sure thats it). Anyhow shes been in the hospital for over 6 months straight and this disease is completely shutting down all her organs. Shes so weak she cant even walk and can barely talk. Shes been getting worse lately and can't even recognise the people who come to visit her. My question is...what can I do to help her out? I dont have her permission to use magick since I havent talked to her in a long time (and she probably couldnt talk now anyways). I dont think I'd be comfortable doing magick to heal her without her permission. I think the repercussions could be much worse than what shes going through now. But then again I dont know. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do? Who's done healing magick on someone without permission and what were the outcomes?
This probably should be in the forum about magick but i thought more people would read it here. hehe

You're right...this does belong in Magicks, not in Just Talks. You'll probably get more response here. When I found this thread, it was quite a way down the page.
There's also a thread in Magicks (I think) about ethics. It talks about the same thing you're asking. You can do a site search for it.

Wow,
I would be torn as well....
well for starters... Magic(k) to me is as natural as Breatheing.
If your friend was able to talk, what would she say?
I dont think there is any violation of ethics in Lighting a candle and saying a prayer for her recovery............
what is the difference between "Binding satan and rebukeing that illness in the name of Jesus" or "doing what is natural to your beliefs"?
Is it wrong to ask for healing for a friend?

i'd agree wildchild, and i see it has been moved to "magick and rituals" where it may get useful responses. to comment on the subject (since i'm not really "moderating" here) i'd agree with xander;
"I dont think there is any violation of ethics in Lighting a candle and saying a prayer for her recovery............"
or if recovery is not possible a prayer for ease from pain.
