Well, it's not really a search engine, but Witchvox.com has one of the most comprehensive list of Pagan links that are available on the web.
For plain old search engines I just use Google.

http://www.mind-n-magick.com/
http://www.occult100.com/
the latter has links to other topsite listings (wicca100, etc.)
neither are as good as the dearly missed avatarsearch, i'm afraid. :(

Does anyone know why www.avatarsearch.com is gone?

I went to www.google.com and typed in "occult search engines" and you wouldn't believe all of the sites that were listed! Try it and see if there might be any there that you might be interested in.

i think avatarsearch went down because of financial problems. i know that they were struggling for a long time. it's sad that they couldn't get enough support to stay open.
i was up till 2:30 or so checking out sites on all the others.

Yeah, I seem to remember that they were trying to find someone willing to buy them out to take over the site. If they didn't get a buyer then I guess they just gave up on it.

Sorry to kick start a very old thread again, but just thought I'd let you all know we have finished the search engine over at Kias World, we planned it as an avatarsearch replacement (if such a thing could ever exist). We think its quite good, the index is still a bit small, but growing rapidly, give it a go and see what you think - any feedback would be great.
try it here (http://www.kiasworld.co.uk)
