Hello everyone! I am writing a paper about Wicca. (10 pages or so) Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about where to go with it? I'm thinking about a general history and the average person's perception of it. What do you think? :)

Make sure you explain that Wicca is not the "Ancient Religion" and that is not "thousands of years old". Please?

I did a brief presentation on Wicca a few years back and found it to be rather challenging so I wish you much luck with it.
A few points I chose to focus in on were:
- Common misconceptions
- Holy days
- A tentative outline of core concepts (and a quick explanation that different groups within Wicca can and do disagree over these so there is a lot of variation at this point)
- That it is one religion among many that falls under the blanket term "pagan"
This is an FAQ recommended to me by several non-flaky people that helped me out a lot with my presentation:

I don't have much advice about the paper but Wicca for the Rest of Us (http://wicca.timerift.net/) and Triumph of the Moon by Ronald Hutton i think are two good sources for the history of wicca, so maybe you should try there.
Anyway, good luck with your presentation :).

Isaac Bonewits' new book "Bonewits' Essential Guide to Witchcraft and Wicca" and also Lilith McLelland's "Out of the Shadows: Myths and Truths of Modern Wicca" are both good places to start for material.

Like others said, I would just first give a basic history of Wicca...and maybe give some background information about the founders and influential people in Wicca. Then go to basic beliefs and practices; sabbats, esbats, rituals, etc. Then maybe you could end the paper on how Wicca has changed since it began and then make an educated guess on where Wicca is going.

I'd describe misconceptions about the religion.
