Ok I am kinda new to this paganism as in I don't know very much about it but since I started, I had had this problem with water whereever I lived. First apartment I lived in, my roomates toilet plugged up and flooded the bathroom. One day on my side of the apartment, a rain sewer line that ran from the roof through our apartment to the ground sprung a leak into my room. The house that I stayed in after that had a bath tub spring a leak. The apartment I lived in after that, the toilet backed up again and completely flooded the downstairs apartment so bad that they essentially has to rebuild it. The apartments after that, not so much. I really didn't practice much. That was around the time that I got married. But when I picked it up again, the septic system in our house backed up. And now where we live in my wifes parents house, we have a leaky tub drain that drips into the room that we are staying in in the basement.
I was thinking there is a diety associated with water that might be trying to get my attention. Or trying to punish me for something. I dunno. Are there any dieties that are somewhat associated in the celtic or roman pantheons? Has anyone had similar experiences?

It could just be coincidence.
Deities tend to be very direct when they want your attention, and tend to be much more harsh than a backed up septic tank when punishing someone (For an example of Poseidon's harshness, read the Odyssey).
Of course, there are always water Nymphs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymph).

When I experienced similar occurrences, I found that I was also dealing with a lot of pent-up emotion and/or stress. The more I tried to hold in the emotional issues that were going on, the worse the "water issues" became. Since I've resolved the emotional issues that I was dealing with, I haven't had any of those kind of problems.

I wouldn't say coincidence - it's probably just common place for the apartments you were staying in. Older buildings, older pipes. When we lived in an old building with terrible plumbing (surprise, surprise) - we come home the grocery and a pipe under the sink has popped and water is running out the front door.
As for the toilet backing up - that's something that can sometimes be fixed in the moment - so train everyone you live with how to do it. IE - don't flush again if it's filling up- plunge! If it's filling up and won't stop take off the back, reach in and lift the floater... then scream for help?
Sometimes overthinking doesn't help. If you only drove old cars and repeatedly they broke down I wouldn't think anything of it.
However if this isn't a mundane thing - I would agree with the person who posted about emotional breakdown and blockage. That is, it's probably an internal thing - (as opposed to a mischevious spirit). You are already wondering if it isn't something like this which may mean that even though the circumstances are coincidence, you are choosing to read them in this way for a reason.

Juliaki has given the same advice I would about searching through your emotional issues since water is the element related to our emotions. There may be some deep seeded stuff or that you just in general need to find a better outlet for dealing with your emotional baggage (<-- not picking on you cuz we all have it). Since I relate the pagan path to becoming heightened in awareness of all things through nature to the self it would stand to reason that every time you come back to the pagan path and begin practicing it would be trying to steer you in the direction of self-awareness and strengthening and the emotions are a major springboard for self-actualization and awareness which I hold to be a VERY integral key into successfullness in understanding nature and the signs all around you.

Very good suggestions everyone. Water is the realm of the unconscious, and of the emotions. In traditional Celtic mythology.. Manannan Mac Lir is the god associated with water. I would suggest googling his name if you are interested in more information. I would also recommened that you delve into the emotional realm. Have you been having varied emotions lately, and/or have you been paying attention to (or repressing) certain emotions? Good Luck!

Dude...it just means your a "proponent of Murphy's Law"...at least that's what I like to say about myself. I have similar things happening all the time. It seems like whatever I touch gets messed up in some fashion. Actually, it's more like I'm the one that discovers that something is defective in some form. Once, while I was living in the dorms in grad. school, I flushed a toilet which caused a massive backflow and flooded half the dorm. Turns out that there were tree roots growing into the pipes under that toilet which caused some type of wierd pressure problem. Of course, I was the poor schmuck that found it! A week later I used one of the public restrooms outside our Resident Director's suite. Turns out someone had rigged the toilet to overflow thereby flooding the RD's entire suite with 3" of water...and of course it was me who discovered that.... Anyway, I'm rambling and I have plenty of stories...infact enough to write a book I'm sure...'cause that's my lot life. Maybe that's the case with you, maybe not...it's probably just a coincidence. Okay, I'm coming off my caffeinated high...Ramble over... :D

Ok thank you. Actually the emotions deal makes a lot of sense. I have a long way to go before I am emotionally in a really good place so thank you all for your help. You all have been quite informative.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. Last night before I went to sleep, I asked the Goddess (whoever she might be) to let me know what it is that is causing this and maybe in someway derailing my efforts to become a better pagan. Well last night I had a dream that made it ubundantly clear as to what it was and what I needed to do. Its amazing what you get when you ask. Thank you all for your insite. It helped me look at things in a way that I have never thought of them before.

Whether or not the deities are specifically sending you a message, I could not say, but I do think that we "notice" things that serve as metaphores in our lives. The fact that these things seem significant to you...means they probably are. You feel like there is a lesson or message, another person might not string these events together because they might be in a different emotional place than you are.
So I would take it as a "message" and use the opportunity to dig around in my psyche.
I went through a similar period with "transmissions". The transmissions on our cars kept going out, so did the transmission on the washer (did you know washing machines HAD transmissions?, It was news to me) And I did see issues with "changing gears" in my personal life. So I worked on it.
The ability to draw abstract conecctions is one of the gifts and curses of the human mind, Can't run from it, may as well put it to good use.

Since I've resolved the emotional issues that I was dealing with, I haven't had any of those kind of problems. Without reading the rest of the posts, this is what I would have said. Water is an Element and relates to emotion, it is a powerful force. Try working through some repressed emotions and lay them to rest, perhaps then you and or your pipes won't feel the need to burst.
