I recently recieved a gorgeous Tarot deck and I instantly fell inclove with it...in more ways than one. I am finding myself physically aroused by Empress, Lovers and Strength cards, which all feature pictures of very beautiful nude women.
Well, last night as I was meditating with them, I found myself inadvertantly.......you know. And I enjoyed it more than I ever have before.
Well, I guess I'm wondering, is it bad to be sexually attracted to your cards? Does it make it inpure or interfere with the spiritual aspect?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Which deck might you be referring to?

No, there's no interference at all. Tarot cards and those who use them aren't based on a religion that thinks sex is evil, but that thinks sex is joyous and wonderful.
Your best bet is to ask your cards if it's ok and see what kind of energies they send you. Just be careful not to get anything on them, if you know what I mean. Wash your hands too! They might get offended if you don't show concern for their wellbeing.

Personally I'm with Danustouch, but personal feelings aside... I wouldn't think it impure. I think it has the potential to interfere if you let it. I would think your feelings about the cards would just become part of the interpretation of them in your readings. I would look at how "these feelings" corolate to the cards (other than just the hot bods) and add that to your interpretation of those cards in this deck. Does that make any sense? (sorry about my spelling, I know it's bad)

Thanks for the input, guys.
The deck I'm reffering to is the Haindl Tarot and it's Empress, Lovers and Strength cards.
I also believe that sex should be celebrated, I just found it a bit wierd as you can probably understand.
But now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense with these cards, as they're all related to feminine love, and since more than a few of my readings are about love/sex (they're pretty much the same thing for me), perhaps it's actually more than appropriate.

Sounds as though you are really liking your Tarot cards at the moment ;)
But, I think they would like it if you actually read with them to see why you are drawn to them like Lunar and Myst have said :)
Can I add that sex and love are totally different and shouldnt be confused  Think about those people you love ~ all of them! would you have sex with them? :T

I have read the cards and I see why I am drawn to them. The Empress card represents love for one's mother and love of nature, though I wouldn't have sex with my mother, I'd like to find a girlfriend who coul dbe my second mommy. The Lovers card symbolizes sex in it's most abstract form: The union of opposites. That's why I say love and sex are one and the same. I view everything as either male or female, and I can tako on whatevr role neccessary to enjoy it. The Strength card is about using one's strength to coerce and nurture into submission rather than forcing it. To me it is strength used correctly and I find that very benevolent and sexy.
So, yeah. It all makes perfect since. I don't want people to think I'm using these cards as playboy mags. There is far much more to it than that.

Society see sex and masturbation as a taboo but both are very healthy. Physical, mentally and emotionally. What ever floats your boat. I'm going to check this deck out to.
I agree that sex and love are two different things but some people these days tend to get confused in that regard.

I agree!
I know this is an old thread, but i wanted to put in my 2 cents...
Alot of people can be extremley "old fashioned" and see sex as a "yuk, eww" topic.... It is the most natural thing in the world - and why not carry on what you are doing? If you feel that connection with your cards, then good for you :)

OK.....I realize that there are many people who do find the images on some tarot cards quite provocative and even erotic I've never--well, this is a new one for me. Perhaps there is something very important that the cards are trying to help your subconscious address??????????????????
