i haven't, but i always thought it would be really interesting to see some real proof of something... or lack of, which ever. i'm with you on the turning skeptic thing... for some reason that's happened to me a little bit too, not sure why.. maybe i just learned too much, so none of it seems exciting or interesting anymore.

I used to be in a Paranormal Investigation team, we focused on spirits.
The basic equipment ( if you can't afford the expensive stuff) is :
A Dictaphone - to record EVP, whenever one of the investigation team talks make sure they say it was them talking, or people might think it was a spirit.
A Camera - I prefer digital, but it doesn't really matter what you use.
And....
A Video Camera - Handy thing to have, see orbs and strange shapes in movement.
(Note: If you can get a video camera with a thermal imaging device built in, that is a bonus too.)
Flahlights
NOTE:ALWAYS BRING SUITABLE FIRST-AID KITS AND FOOD SUPPLIES IN CASE SOMEONE IS HURT OR IF THE TEAM GETS LOST SOMEWHEREINVESTIGATION ( i have been roughed up by spirits before now, though most are nice)
The more complex stuff ( if you're willing to splash your cash):
Electromagnetic Field Detector - Many people believe spirits are surrounded by an electromagnetic field.
And....
A Thermometer - to see if the temperature increases or decreases when a spirit is near.
(Note: If you can get a video camera with a thermal imaging device built in, that is a bonus too.)
I recommend going in groups of no less than 5 for 2 reasons:
1) A large group will be less likely to get lost or injured in the dark than a group of, say, two
2) Larger groups make most people feel more comfortable and less likely to think that, say, a dry twig cracking is a ghostly dog's growl etc.
Hope I was of some assistance, and good luck if you do do a paranormal investigation.
Blessed be,
Folky.

I once tapped one of those late night shows, and it had the most damming evidence of paranormal sights i have ever seen.
unfortunalty i loaned the damn thing out and never got it back, it was full of poltergiest activity caught on tape, not just a chair moving about 1cm but sheets of steel being ripped off walls and tables being thrown about.
Large balls of light not things that look like specks of dust, these things had faces in them! and looked like torches being thrown about.
I have to say it was pretty impressive, and i dont think that in all the years that people have had investigations and tapes and cameras etc that they havent caught nothing, i think it is just kept from us.
i have got very skeptial about the small stuff, but this tape was great. i am so annoyed it didnt come back.

i have had a strong belief in the paranormal the supernatural
from childhood to presant day, when i was younger
i had a couple of weird unexplainable things happen to me
i made a promise to my self to never forget to always remember
what happened and to not pass it of as childhood imagination

It sounds like 'World's Scariest Ghosts Caught On Tape,' that aired on FOX a few years ago. That was a fantastic program. It had some amazing videos, infinitely better evidence than dust orbs and smoke.

Folklore (above) brings up an interesting point about the speaking and EVPs.
The Event:
Up to March 3, 2006, the preceeding few days had been spent studying the origins of the Romani language (Gypsy) in response to viewing a work from an Iraqi artist entitled 'Gypsy.' On March 3, 2006, I was talking with an Italian who told me one of his relatives had Gypsy blood and was from Romania. I mentioned to him that I had learned that the origin of the Gypsies was in India, and that (at least some) believe the female breasts not to be 'sexual' per se, and that the upper part of the body was considered more utilitarian, the husband might reach over and retrieve a pack of cigarettes from his wife's bosom. This stands to reason if propaganda campaigns of the Nazis included posters depicting, for example, a Gypsy woman breast-nursing an infant while smoking a pipe. These types of posters were placed in public places (See The Nazi War on Cancer, Princeton University Press).
Ending the conversation and going elsewhere, about 45 minutes later I was standing in front of an elevator waiting for it to open. When it did, it had stopped half-way in the doorway (the floor of the elevator was half-way up). Immediately reporting this to the authorities of the building, I returned to the elevators. This time I was on another floor waiting for the elevator to open. When it did, a black man who was the only passenger in the elevator looked at me and could not believe his eyes at first until I told him what was happening: the elevator had stopped half-way in the doorway. He crawled out of the elevator, and I suggested that he tell the authorities to document the occurrence. I do not know if he did, yet I can imagine his fright at seeing me 'cut in half' from the waist down.
The next day, telling the story to a few people, I noticed that they were extremely reluctant to even suggest a coincidence; that is to say, they were reluctant to even speak. At that moment I felt like either the ghost on the other side, or that I was truly in the presence of ghosts: my audience. Thus, there are only two people who actually experienced the half-way elevator, yet when I soon will tell the Italian, I risk being labelled a lunatic. The stigmatization came through in the first group, one of which, after hearing the story, only asked me politely some minutes later if I had been getting enough sleep.
In addition, among the topics on March 3 with the Italian were his remarks about numbers. A few years before I had mentioned to him the number 108 as being relevant to nuclear physics: it is the number of hours allocated as a time window by which authorities inspect nuclear facilities, in particular the Iranian facilities. I reminded him of this on March 3, 2006, my birthday. Interstingly, by coincidence, the U.S. Department of the Interior was founded on this day in 1847.

I am the director of a paranormal investigation team. The equipment required for investigations have already been listed. One thing that you may want to use also is dowsing rods or a pendulum. I recommend experience with these before you take them into the field. I am a firm believer in the paranormal, but that is because of my experiences. I think it is good to be skeptical, but open minded. Just be prepared for anything. ;)
