Does anyone know whether people who have a spiritual connection/tie to each other are soul mates? Or is there another meaning? I'm really curious to know.

gizzy,

As an astrological question, those that are connected to you spiritually can be noted by their north and south node chart placements in relation to your own.
For example, with my own sweetie booboo his Nodal axis coincides with my ascendant/ descendant horizon.

The Nodes resemble the sewing notions, "hooks and eyes"
and are not planets. They are points that mark the intersection of the Moon's orbit around the Earth with the ecliptic.

The ecliptic is the illusory path of the Sun as it revolves around the Earth during a year; the Earth's circle around the Sun in the annual orb. Thus, the nodes are merely the interception of these two orbit lines. One when the Moon is passing south to north, and the other when Moon is passing north to south.

The North Node indicates where we are going in this lifetime. It is our path, the area of life we need to develop in this incarnation, what we need to learn. It represents the future. Often only the North Node symbol is shown on astrology charts, but if you know where the North Node is, then you know where the South Node is as well, because...

the South Node is always exactly opposite the North Node, at the same degree in the polar opposite sign. The South Node indicates the gifts and talents we came into this life with, what we already know. It is the sum of past incarnations. As such, it represents the past, where we have been.

So, the fact that my SBB's North node is in my 7th house doesn't surprise me, because in this life he is my mate. That his South node is in my 1st house conjunct my Asc, shows me that we have indeed known each other in some important manner before this life.

Would that suggest that everyone born on the same day at the same time (or born at whatever point it takes for their node chart placements to be exactly the same as your mate) be your soul mate? How likely is this?

My soul friend was born two years, and five days apart from me..

I was 5/22/75, at 9:01 am,

He was 5/27/73, at 12:32 PM.

I had my friend, an astrologer, do our charts...to see if there was any implication of astrological-spiritual ties.

She found some pretty interesting stuff. I used to have it all written down, but I got rid of it not too long ago, by mistake. She found that some of his data "Squared" mine. Obviosly, we are both Gemini's...and we a couple of the same planets. Other planets, which are not exactly alike, are "Squared"..so it made for an interesting mix.

I wouldn't mind getting someone elses take on our charts, though:)

Suggest?
Perhaps. :D
Perhaps not. :bigredgri

Same day and same time would certainly connect people to each other, but for nodal axis to be the same, there would have to be a component of similar placement as well.

There have been longitudinal studies of people born in the same hospital wards at times not exact but close together. They show similarites one might find with twins. Even if the families no longer remained in the same area, or with twins separated on birth, the children grow and often find themselves workingiing in the same profession.

Interesting instances of these children growing up and each marrying a woman name Iris, or having the same number of children in the same gender birth order such as 3 offspring/ girl boy girl, also with the same names.

Coincidence?
Conceivably.
Perchance the outcome of magical workings are coincidence?

Each relationship serves a unique purpose and addresses certain issue(s) in our consciousness which need either refinement, acknowledgment, or some combination thereof.

Thus, it is feasible that all relationships are karmic: parental, filial, sibling, marital, platonic, sexual, abusive, romantic, etc.
The nature and duration of the relationship are perfectly structured and suited to what needs to be addressed-even a momentary encounter with a cashier in a store can enlighten a person by way of some reflection upon the self.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the ones whom our souls chose to surround us as our immediate family (parents, siblings, and spouses) have so much to teach us (and we them) that our souls chose a form of relationship that would (for most of us) stay in our energy field for most of our lives.
