I'm finally getting my first tarot deck and I can't wait! I'm so excited, I'm getting the Dragon Tarot. So just out of curiousity what were some of your first decks and which is your favorite?

My first tarot deck was one I got from a bookstore. Some no name type beginner set that served it's purpose by teaching me how to read the cards. I REALLY wanted the 'Celtic Dragon Tarot' but it was way too expensive at that time. Then for that Christmas my wonderful girlfriend got me the set I wanted! Yay! I have since picked up 'The Green Man Tree Oracle' which I've found to be very cool, and to give very interesting readings.
My girlfriend has one of the 'Dragon Tarot' ones (there's so many). I think it's the one that comes in the purpley coloured box. She has had it for years and loves it. I got her the 'DruidCraft Tarot' for Christmas this year (always return the favour) which she has yet to use but loves just the same.

my first deck was one that came in a set at the bookstore... Art of Tarot, i guess.. i hated the pictures, and i could never learn to read with it... i still loved tarot, so i kept buying decks, and i eventually learned how to read with Spiral Tarot. i lost most of the cards though, so sadly i can't use it until i get a new copy... so now i'm using the Art Nouveau Tarot by Matt Meyers, and i'm getting really familiar with it...

My first deck was the Mythic Tarot. Being a big fan of Greek Myths, it made it very easy to read. But for some reason, the Robin Wood tarot kept calling out to me. I know it's rather basic, but I couldn't stop feeling drawn to it. I bought it and have used it ever since.

My first was the Dragon Tarot by Praconowitz (I think that's how you spell it), and I never really connected with it well enough to read with it. Now, 13 decks later, I haven't found "the one" for me, but I do connect well enough to the Thoth and the Hanson Roberts.

My First Deck was the Sacred Circle. However, the first deck I Really use and the one I started learing to read with is the Golden Tarot. I love that deck. It really talks to me.

I have a set of cards but have never used them. I was bouhght them as a present years ago and though I am interested in tarot I haven't even ever taken them out of their box, they feel kind of foriegn and detattached from me ? reading this thread, maybe thats not all that odd and they are just not the cards for me

My very first set was the Goddess Tarot. It worked for me for awhile until I got my next deck, then it kablooey. ;)
The deck that I read the best with is the Gilded Tarot. It will read for anyone, any question, any mood. Even with my other tarot decks, this one by far, screams to be read.
My other decks include, a basic deck (unnamed), Gothic (by Joseph Vargo), Old English, and The Rohrig deck (the original German version; aka the Boobie deck ).

I have the Gilded, but I haven't worked with it much. I sure don't get the same feeling from that deck as I do the Golden.
I also have the Russian Tarot of St. Petersberg, the Sacred Circle, Totem Animals, and the newest, the Druid Craft.
I love the artistry of the Russian Tarot, but its too "Dark" for me to read right now.

My first tarot deck was the Wicca Faery Tarot by Kisma Stepanovich [sic] I still have it and despite her plegarism on her books . . . the deck is good. I use it for spiritual questions. I have owned well over thirty at one time, but have slimmed it down to seven. I have the Druid Animal Oracle which I use to work with my Celtic animal totems. I love the pictures and artwork in that deck. I also have the Goddess Oracle, which is good for working with Her, and the Medicine Cards. I just bought Inner Child Tarot at the library for 2.00! The pictures are different and I have not used it since buying it. I also have the Tarot of the Old Path, which I use for general readings, the Fairy Ring Tarot, which I use for working with the fae, and last the Sacred Circle Tarot. The one I use the most is TArot of the Old Path . . . I adore it.

I'm getting the Dragon tarot that Kestrel Firesong did, I wish I could afford to get the Celtic Dragon tarot too, but I like the artwork on this one better, more dragons, less humans. Later I'll get the Celtic Dragon tarot too, but I'm happy with this one for now, or will be once I get it, Goddess I can't wait! ^_^

My first deck is a simple Rider tarot and was given to me by my great aunt. It is older then I am. I may need to buy a new set soon myself.

My first deck was the Dragon Tarot and i love the images and was very drawn to it, but 5 years later I still cannot read it very well :(
I also have The Faerie Oracle, love it and it works well as an Oracle; The Classic Tarot (JJ Swiss) which was given to me by my aunt, but I hate how it looks and The Well Worn Path, but am having problems with it as well.
So I have resorted to ordering The Guilded Tarot and hopefully will have it by next weekend and may actually get some where :tarotwitc

I'm finally getting my first tarot deck and I can't wait!
Congradulations! Keep practicing and it'll all come to you in time, stick to simple readings daily and recording your readings and interpretations. This will give you a good understanding of the tarot and the confidence to read for others.

My first (and still only) deck is the Rider-Waite-Smith. That deck really speaks to me - the images are just so iconic and powerful. I love the black outline style of the drawings and the simple coloring. I haven't seen any other deck I like better, but there are lots of others I would like to own in addition.

My first and currently only Tarot deck is the Cachet Tarot. The artwork is AWESOME (points to Strength card in sig) and I'm quite comfortable reading it even though it's a little too big for me to shuffle right. I just love the detail and the COLORS... _inlove_ :floating:
And it only cost around 14 dollars! (I used my Borders card, but oh well. :hahugh:)

Hi,
were can we find a link or a place to see and purchase this deck.
I love looking at new decks and this sounds like a step away from the celtic dragon (which I can 't connect with for beans).

My first deck, like several others, was a no name deck from a bookstore. I then got Rider-Waite deck for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend. Since then I've purchased several more decks: The Lovers Tarot, Gilded Tarot, Revelations Tarot, and Thoth. I connect the best with my Revelations or my Rider-Waites. I cannot connect with my Gilded cards-even though they're beautiful and most people love them. I'm still learning to read the Thoth deck, since they have different names for the cards. Its tricky but I'm getting there!

My first deck was the Rider Waite Smith. My favorite Tarot deck is the Camoin Jodorowsky, but I also love my oracle decks! Especially the Well Worn Path!
