I thought i'd post this here, as you all seem to know a lot about Ancient Egypt and the history. I need help with something, do you know when the Ancient Hebrew's were in Egypt, how did they get there (like, as slaves or willingly), also what was their life like in Ancient Egypt, and did they worship any of the gods while they were there. Also i've heard that many of the Ancient Egyptian's did fear Yahweh, (although i'm not sure if they knew him before or after the Hebrews, as i thought the Hebrews came into contact, or Yahweh contacted them, from a Midinite religion, but i have no idea where the Midinite's came from).
Also, although i may have asked this before so sorry if i have, was Set a Hebrew deity and was Yahweh, an Ancient Egyptian deity?
Thanks, for any help, as i need to find out about the Hebrew's and Egyptian's.

The sons of Adam and Eve went to Egypt to get wives.
Abraham went settled there and left after a while.
Joseph went to Egypt as a slave and was freed and became a powerful politician there..
Jacob and his sons traveled back and forth, eventually settling there.
That doesn't seem to me like slavery, it seems like migration and trade of culture.
Jacob changed his name to Israel, ever wonder why? El, the Caananite god from where they originated, had a son Ba'al. Ba'al, as a god of vegetation, would die yearly and then be resurrected. Well Jacob had a dream wherein he wrestled with a problem. That problem was one of, how can I follow the faith of my fathers and those of Egypt. In the Egyptian belief there was also a vegetation god, named Ysr (Asar/Osiris). The solution was to adopt the Egyptian Ysr and replace Ba'al. So Jacob took the name of Osiris and combined it with the Caananite El or Ysr-el.
Freedom of movement, freedom of faith and freedom to marry and gain wealth are not common elements to the restrictive life of slavery. So I would say that the Hebrews were in Egypt of their own accord.
also what was their life like in Ancient Egypt, and did they worship any of the gods while they were there.
According to the Bible, for the most part, they were brick makers. Some, like Miriam, worked in the royal palace as a wet nurse. Moses was part of the royal family. Joseph was the captain of the Pharoah's chariots and a vizier. It is safe to say their lives depended on how well they integrated their skills into Egyptian society.
It is obvious from the biblical accounts that they did worship the Egyptian gods. Moses had to rewrite the Ten Commandments because when he came off the mount, the Hebrews were worshipping Hathor and celebrating the Festival of Hathor.
Also i've heard that many of the Ancient Egyptian's did fear Yahweh,
Uh, no...
Also, although i may have asked this before so sorry if i have, was Set a Hebrew deity and was Yahweh, an Ancient Egyptian deity?
Set or Sutekh is an Egyptian diety and has nothing to do with the Hebrew belief. Yhwh or Iaho, I believe, is of Egyptian/Sumerian origin.
